Do your home work - 2009 Honda Civic
By Roadie - October 9 - 9:03 pmIve always liked the Honda Civic. Its got great looks and the mag tests say it sets the standards for other small cars to match but Im disappointed. The road noise in the cabin is just horrible with the Civic and for me its really a big distraction thats keeping me from enjoying this car. Too much gear whine from the drivetrain too. Road noise in the cabin is the biggest flaw with this car. I like the rest of the car, but its not really any better than the other cars in its class and you pay more for a Honda and get less features for your money compared to say a Toyota. The Civic is a nice car, but its a noisy car and pricey for what you get. Do you homework before you buy.

Nice but gas mileage better on my 1999! - 2009 Honda Civic
By Jules - September 14 - 8:10 pmThis car is nice looking, it is comfortable and the interior is a lot of bang for the buck considering the price. However, I do feel the engine is lacking a big, at only 2,500 miles I already feel a little idle rumble when I start the car and its not nearly as good on gas as my 99 Civic EX which I also still have. Thats a big disappointment to me. The brakes also seem like they are working super hard all the time and they make an awful noise when breaking on any type of hill. I dont believe they are going to last too long. Those are my only gripes, its a nice little car.

Civic EX - 2009 Honda Civic
By amber - September 14 - 12:13 pmFirst Honda. Had a Matrix before this. Love the look of this car and the way it drives. Antilock brakes occasionally feel "crunchy." Auto transmission doesnt always shift smoothly. Axle nut loose after 6000 miles. Do not like the auto up windows or the seat belt alarm that takes forever to go off. (I know, I know, its illegal to not wear a seatbelt!) 35 mpg hwy is great. Not so good city driving. About 24 mpg. Combo driving is still good. Ride is hard but will try the lower tire pressure.

Love to drive - 2009 Honda Civic
By nyker - August 20 - 2:00 pmI recently bough this car a month ago and already drove around 1.4K. Highway mileage is great, I got like 33 mph with air conditioner on. City mileage is not so good though, I am making only 22-23 mph. One of the reasons might be the fact that I usually have to drive in heavy traffic, go little and stop again. Road noise sometime can be a little excessive. Even a little bit of uneven road surface can cause uncomfortably loud grinding noise coming from suspension. Other than the noise problem, the car runs smooth. Always fun to drive. I even sometime intentionally miss the exit on the way to work just because I couldnt get enough of driving this car. Love both interior and exterior.

Good Car, Some quirks - 2009 Honda Civic

I did a lot of research prior to purchasing this vehicle and it has lived up to almost everything I heard/read. I love both the interior and exterior styling -- the two tier dash is my favorite. The quality of the interior materials is far beyond that of some of its competitors, namely the Toyota Corolla. I read some other reviews that complained about the lack of a remote trunk release, 60/40 rear split seats, and outside temperature gauge: All of these features are available on the EX trim. My only complaint is the gas mileage...I average about 27 mpg. Based on my research, I was expecting better fuel economy.

Staying Young at 61 - 2009 Honda Civic
By Hal M. - August 19 - 3:16 amIve had several Accords, so I know how reliable Hondas are. I have had my Si for a year now, and its the S2000 I didnt buy for reasons of practicality. I was 60 when I bought this sports car with a trunk and a (roomy) back seat. I love the styling, the performance, and most of all... the seats! These are the best seats I have ever had in any car; great back support, and with the red stitching and Si logo, they look way cool. I average about 25 miles per gallon in mixed driving (best was 28), not bad considering its hard to resist putting your foot down to experience the i-VTEC rush that kicks in at 6k rpm. I wish it was quieter, though. Engine noise is cool, but lots of road noise, too.

Great Car... But Room For Improvements - 2009 Honda Civic
By Dave - May 17 - 2:00 amOverall satisfaction is great, just a bit upset about the MPG, getting an average of 26 mpg with normal driving. Car handles very well and the steering is tight and responsive. Engine could use just a bit more power, but still not bad. Cold morning start is a bit rough. Road noise is present, but not too bad. Very reliable car, wish it had a better warranty just for the piece of mind, needs to be 5year/60k bumper to bumper especially for the price.

Civic LX Coupe - 2009 Honda Civic
By Terry - May 8 - 11:33 pmSmooth...silky smooth...from ride to gear linkage to acceleration. Car feels like much more expensive mid level cars on the road. Nice styling but age of the design is showing and rivals are have more power and sportiness to them. Was looking at this and Alima 2.5 coupe but price was right. Had the original CRX...this civic comes close but the CRX was much more of a drivers car.

SUV to MPG - 2009 Honda Civic
By Rusty - February 25 - 11:36 pmI traded my Ford Explorer for the EX and quite glad I did. My payment is less than my fuel bill for my truck. The Civic EX is a great solid reliable vehicle. I like the iPod and aux connections for music and I am dropping my XM subscription. I like having everything work, and the joy of opening the roof to play with the wind is a huge plus to me.

Four Months - 2009 Honda Civic
By Robert - November 11 - 4:26 amFour months and a bit over 7k miles. MPG is > 38, over the period. Had just recently driven in heavy rain with the OE Bridgestones, and the car rides fine. Most of the driving is open road & highway (90%). Cruise Control maintains a constant speed going uphills. Very happy I returned to a Civic.
