Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Great value - 2008 Honda Civic

When searching for a new car, I looked for 3 things: great overall ratings, great mileage & a small sporty car with 2 doors and room for 4. I got just what I wanted with and my Civic reminds me of driving my old Acura Integra!

  • New owner but thoroughly tested - 2003 Honda Civic

This car handles quite well, rides smoothly and is very quiet. Sporty, fun to drive, better overall feel than a Cavalier. No frills. There are some annoyances -- one delay wiper setting, how the door locks work, cramped driver’s quarters because of a large door storage space that digs into your knee. Brakes are not responsive; you have to mash them to the floor to stop. Shifter does not stop you from shifting through Drive or bumping it out of Drive into gear 2 or 3. The speedometer is difficult to read because the lines that show odd numbered speeds (like 30 MPH) are too short to differentiate. Hard to tell these things on one test drive!

  • Best car Ive owned - 2006 Honda Civic

Well, I upgraded to the HCH II from a Jeep Wrangler, so this is like driving a Lexus for me. But, based upon my memory of my previous Coupe, this car blows all others away. Honda really got it right this time. The new Civic feels more like the Accord sans the leather seats. I opted out of the Navi because the dealers in the Los Angeles area are charging $1500+ markups. The $650 TomTom does the job.

  • Sweet EX Sedan - 2003 Honda Civic
    By -

I bought the EX Sedan in July of 2003. The Car has been a fantastic buy. I put zero down and could sell it for more than I owe. The only complaints would be: more headroom, sunroof eats up a bit, bigger trunk, my 89 Mazda 323 had WAY more, put better tires on it from the factory, the Firestones only lasted 31,000 miles and were VERY noisy, Goodyear Assurances fixed ALL tire concerns. The great things are: great build quality, great mileage (38.5 highway), resale value, longevity, etc. I will run it til it has 200 to 300k on it and still get a good price for it. Great commuter and traveler car. Obviously not for 5 people, but have done 3 adults, 2 dog crates, luggage & got 38 mpg.

  • Great car for the price. - 2016 Honda Civic

Being just over 6ft tall I am comfortable, but my hair sometimes brushes the roof (car had moonroof so slight loss in space. But I bought the car for my son who is 510" and its perfect for him. As a parent, Honda Sensing is a real comfort factor for me.

  • Do your homework and form your own opini - 2002 Honda Civic

upfront this may not be the cheapest car to buy, however down the road it will retain more of its value then any other car in its class and it will give you the least amount of repair headaches.

  • Fantastic Car! Go and get one! - 2002 Honda Civic
    By -

This is my 2nd Honda Civic. My first one was a 1994 EC coupe. I bought a 2002 EX sedan this time and I love it! This is my first new car and it is great! The gas mileage cant be beat. They have really done well from the 1994 to the 2002. I love the seats that you can do the height adjustment - this is great for short people! The dealership that I went to were helpful and friendly. I got a below invoice price and the person I worked with (mostly on-line and by phone) called me up to let me know that the car I wanted in blue was the last one that they were going to get. I was able to go and get it that day!
