Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • 2500 Mile Follow-up - 2006 Honda Civic

I just turned 2500 miles on mt 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid. I have had no problem acheiving over 50 MPG city driving now that the weather has turned warm. Just got back from a 700 mile highway trip. I drove mainly interstate highways. Kept the speed at 65MPH or under for part of the trip and got 48 MPG returning I drove at 70-75 MPH and got 54MPG. I ran the AC when the weather turned hot and watched my MPG fall significantly. Looks like 36-38MPG is to be expected when running the AC.

  • WoW for the 2nd Time! - 2004 Honda Civic

I just traded my 2001 Civic Lx Coupe in for a new 2004 Ex Coupe and i am just as amazed. This car is incredible! Its the beginning of the model year and i got $800 off, the gas milage is almost 40mpg (and its not a hybrid), and it looks HOT. Besides maitanence, i put $0 into my last civic over 3yrs. These are truly THE best cars out there!

  • Great Car But... - 2003 Honda Civic

WE bought a Civic knowing that in 5 years it will be paid off and ready to go to college with my daughter. But I love it so much I may keep it for myself.

  • My Mothers Car - 2005 Honda Civic

My Mother has had her car about 2 weeks now and we have noticed on this car, her first civic but the 13th Honda in the family, that their is no light in the ignition and we miss that-A LOT!! Also, you cannot lock or unlock the car from the passenger side. To us that is another negative point esp. for a 76 year old lady. She wishes that their was more storage space up front. The car drives as well as her previous Accords so she is happy with that. My daughter will end up with this car in about seven years and their is no doubt in my mind it will ride and run as good as it does now.

  • Great on Gas AND Fun to Drive! - 2007 Honda Civic

  • Great car..not overly impressed - 2006 Honda Civic

Overall a well enginered and built car that is fun to drive and safe. I only ask that they tune up the suspension a bit so the driver doesnt feel like he is driving a model T. Also give accurate fuel data as this car and my new Pilot are about 25% below numbers on sticker.

  • Try to find a better car at this price point - 2006 Honda Civic

Having owned three civics I must say that the 2006 is the coolest looking one yet. Performance wise its no sports car but thats ok, Im sure it will provide years of faithful service. Isnt that the point of an econo car?

  • Great value for a car - 2016 Honda Civic

It was not that hard to make decision to buy this car. This is our third Honda. Being the car of the year was also an incentive. We also looked into the WV Passat but the reliability issue of the European car was the thing that steered us back to this car. With that said we had this car for almost six months now. It ran flawlessly. There was some issue with the torsional cable in the trunk that came loose and it was an easy fix with a wire-tie. The tire pressure sensor alerted and had to re-calibrate couple times with that touch screen. Nothing major. The car drove nice and sure foot. Turbo is preppy. Not as nice and powerful like our ten years old V6 Accord but it was nice for the money spent. The car has nice curve and look. Some people dont like bulky rear but I think it look OK. I usually hand wash my car during summer and I do notice that the fit near the rear tires and passenger door are not that well made. I had to pop the body panel back in. Look like they need better glue or rivet to hold it in place. Inside cabin has very nice material and fit compare to my Accord. We got 35MPG so far with this car. Havent driven on HW that much...may be less than 20%. All in all this is a value buy. If this cars Turbo engine and CVT lasted us ten years then it will be a good buy. If not we will have to switch brand or not buy a car with CVT again. We paid $23K ($20.5K for the car + Taxes + finance) total.

  • Happy Driver! - 2002 Honda Civic

I have had my 4 door 5 speed for a short while. I enjoy it. I have driven quite a few 5 speed Hondas. Compared to the old 1.6 L Civics, this engine actually has decent torque between 1500RPM-2500RPM (even compared to a VTEC Del Sol). Good back seat spacing, big trunk. Its not easy to fill up all the space.
