Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Shop around long distance in order to negotiate with your local dealer. I hade lease price differences of $50/month, comparing apples to apples. I live in Virginia, and Koons Honda was the most forthright dealer here and Herb Chambers and Weymouth Honda in Massachusetts. The local dealer, Pohanka, wasnt even in the ball park, until I leveraged the other prices. Koons and Chambers were very nice and in hindsight, I regret not having purchased the car from Sunny at Koons in Manassas. This company followed up with a personal conversation from the General Manager, interested in finding out why I didnt use them. The dealer I bought the car from, Pohanka, didnt even come over and say thanks, didnt show us the controls or review the car and let me go with an empty tank of gas...

I love the interior of the car. It handles very well and enjoy the ride. Now, when comparing the exterior and interior design of the Civic Si and the Civic from Europe, you can see that the North American Honda Civic needs much improvement. Nonetheless, the Civic Si compared to other U.S automobiles of its class, is far beyond its competition. It would be great to see the European Civic in the U.S as a special edition for 2009, or as an alternative option for the Civic Si. Honda U.S is the only to offer 2 types of Civic Sis: the sedan and the coupe. Then, I must say, why not introduce a third, a hatchback! Nonetheless, I love my Civic Si and will be mine for a very long time :)

  • Poor Mans sport Car to the MAX - 2000 Honda Civic

Ive had my car brand new from the dealer. Its a joy to drive, and to make modification on. Most civic owners complain about the road & engine noise when driving. Well remember that the Civic is a lower-end Honda product and wasnt meant to be a luxury car. Nevertheless, it far excel in its purpose and gets a definate THUMBS UP from this Honda Civic SI owner.

  • DONE BUY THIS CAR YET! - 2016 Honda Civic

I purchased this car three weeks ago and was initially very impressed , you get a lot of car for the money. Day one the blue tooth kicks me out after 54 seconds. So the next day back to dealer who sets up phone again, and 54 seconds later the phone is dropped. I have an older phone not a smart phone but it works great in our 2016 BMW and 2011 lexus. Third trip to dealer told my phone was old, but my wife i phone 6 only lasts 2 minutes. This a known problem with the civics, finally the tech guy looked at the car and said there are problems. Three weeks and under 300 miles and the radio system needs to be replaced. Skip this car for now , no loner no free oil changes just a headache.

  • Honda Civic Problems - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

I downsized from a 06 Audi A4 to a Civic. This car has been nothing but problems. When I bought the car, part of the bumper was scratched and the dealer fixed it. Then my struts were making a creaking noises within weeks of buying the car, the dealer replaced the struts. I complained a couple of times about the air smelling horrible when the A/C was on and they couldnt fix it (they couldnt smell it). The car started to make a ticking noise within the past week and took it into a dealer close to my work. With 31k on the car, the dealer is telling me that I have burned out the clutch and I have to pay $500 for a new clutch! This is a junk car and would not recommend this car.

flawless...yet lacks that distinct personality you find in the domestic makes that have suspect reliability and quality issues (I.E. ford, chrysler,gm) however over the year Ive owned the honda its looks have grown on me...

I am 20 yrs old and I bought the Civic for myself. I went from the car my parents bought me, a Pontiac Sunfire, to the Civic. I loved my Sunfire and wasnt sure if I was going to like the Civic but once I test drove it, I fell in LOVE with it and had to have it! The Civic is awesome! Smooth ride, fun to drive, great design interior and exterior! Its just an awesome car through and through! Very sporty!
