Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

So far no problems other than a drivers side sunshade breaking. Wonderful daily driver. Looks great, handles great, extremely comfortable even on long drives. Great standard transmission. I look forward to many more years of blissful ownership. For an econobox vehicle I dont think you could do any better.

I love this car. I bought it before the recent spike in gas prices and Im glad i did. My other vehicle was 1 2002 Dodge Dakota and with 15mpg it was impractical to use it as my every day car. This vehicle gets in the mid 40s in the winter and improves to over 50 now that the weather has warmed.

So, a change in outlook has taken me from a 15 mpg Durango to the 51 mpg Civic. I just love this little car so far. My new job is about 60 miles away, and Ill be commuting for a couple of months. This will be a great commuter. If I drive it on the freeway at 75 mph, I seem to get about 45 mpg. At a more leisurely pace of 65 and under, itll pull down an honest (at least according to the digital readout) 52+ mpg.

  • Reliability Unquestionable - 2004 Honda Civic

I just wish GM, Ford, and other American makers would make reliable cars of solid engineering ... this is my 4th Honda!

This is my 4th Honda and have noticed with each one the build quality has deteriorated and problems have increased. This one immediately had creaking and groaning noises from the rear passengers side and has been in the shop twice and am awaiting a faulty shock. The build quality is severely lacking from my first tight Honda with ill fitting plastics and overspray inside the doors and boot and just generally lacking.

its fun to drive, it has fear, decent power. i drove the car to mexico from san antonio and made it all the way to my destination, drove it in mexico for 2 days and i still made it back to the border to refill my tank to come back to san antonio. what i was trying to do, is to find out how far the car can go with 1 full tank, i get about 430 mi. in the city, this time i wanted to pushed further, and the car gave me 562 miles on 1 full tank. this is a great honda, reliable, economic, etc. i love my 2004 honda civic ex. when the powerfull 200 hp civic si model comes to the market of san antonio in 2006, it will defenetly be in my drive way.

  • Excellent vehicle in its class. - 2001 Honda Civic

Great fuel efficiency, clean engine, a basic instrument panel and performance and reliability never matched by any American-designed subcompact or compact class cars. Over 35K with no major repairs (except for brakes and regular maintenance).
