Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Very Reliable - 2000 Honda Civic

Bought my 5 speed EX new in 2000. Been very reliable and has never broken down. Now has 52000 miles on it. I also have a 95 Civic EX with 126000 miles. The 2000 is larger yet has a taller softer ride. I prefer the sportier, stiffer ride of the 95 ex. The A/C is much stronger on the 2000 than the 1995.

I really enjoy the comfortable ride, and sporty appearance added with the rear spoiler. And last but not least, the gas mileage city & Highway are wonderful.

  • More car than I expected - 2003 Honda Civic

This car is not what I expected. It is more powerful than I expected and far more fun to drive. Even with 3 adults and the air on I have more than enough power for highway driving. Dash blue lights, with some digital read outs, are beautiful and climate control works great. I am 6 2" but find it has plently of head and leg room. I enjoy the driving experience and how slowly the gas gauge drops. I have never owned a small car but after adjusting to sitting low to the ground, I am completely confortable. Lots of safety features, a smooth ride, and loaded with options without adding any to the sticker.

  • Get what you pay for. - 2005 Honda Civic

This is my 3rd Honda. I have had many makes in between. This car looks great, has enough guts to get it on the highway and city merging, and it gets great mileage. We recently bought a Kia van, fully loaded, thought we would save some money compared to other companies vans. So far 2 recalls and the worst service department you can imagine. Pay a little more, get better service, and alot better resale value in the end.

I had read all the good and bad about the new Civic coupe, I ran out and bought a Raylle Red, with Navi, I love this car, MPG is about 35, which is awesome. The lighting and Navi are the best I have found yet, and no problems to date.

  • No more American cars 4 me.. - 2006 Honda Civic

This was my 4th car to own & my first brand new one. Previously I had only owned American cars & then decided that it was time for a change. This car is amazing. I wouldnt change a thing about it. It gets great gas mileage, is fun to drive, & is very reliable. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great car. The week after I got mine, my boss showed up 2 work in one...it has its own style, class & is just an amazing machine.......

  • Elegant feeling Civic - 2009 Honda Civic

This vehicle replaces a 2000 Honda Accord I owned. I have been very happy with my previous car and having driven 6,000 miles with this current vehicle, I am very happy I purchased it. Though, small, the Civic feels very roomy and spacious for its size. The gauge layout is interesting, but has become very beneficial for me. The voice activated navigation is a great feature and being able to connect my phone for the hands free link is perfect for me. I am happy I stayed with Honda.

  • Wheres the storage? - 2002 Honda Civic

I was happy to have the Si back after a 7 year absence. Bought it almost sight unseen. Great performance. No shimmy in high winds and lots of power. No place to put anything, though. No coin box, no ashtray, power outlet doesnt take lighter. Seats cause acute bun-ache after long trips.

My 2002 honda civic sir is the worst vehicle I ever owned. Gas guage never worked, parking brake never worked, cruise control quit, rain cutter mouldings came out, rear window washer motor and assembley had to be replaced. Gas mileage was poor. The engine ran rough cold and would cough and sputter when hot. The longer I drove it the rougher the clutch and shifting became. I put 31000 km on this car in 11 months. I dealt the car for a four door civic after a 11 months of trouble with the sir hatchback.

  • I Love This Car!!! - 2002 Honda Civic

I was in the market for a new car because I questioned the reliability of my 2000 Alero which had been in the shop three times and was close to running out its warranty. I wanted something that was reliable with good gas mileage...first name that came to mind? Of course Honda. Since I cant afford the Accord I looked at the Civic EX. The Civic delivers outstanding performance...its got quite a bit of zip for a 4 banger...and it handles much better than the Alero ever did, even when it was new. The dealer was wonderful...even threw in the floormats for free. If you want a good car, but this one.
