Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

This car is real quick from 60-90. Has some road noise, but the 350 watt sound system can correct for it. This car is a real show stopper for $22K, with at 7 sec 0-60. A must test drive if you are looking at the IS 250-350 (smaller interior) or the Acura TL. The resale value makes the Si a real choice over the Subaru WRT which costs almost twice the price.

This car has manual transmission 6 forward, and 1 reverse. What is great is that it also has cruise control for those long drives. Apart from the power of the v-tech engine (205 hp approx.) with its DOHC compared to its predecessor Civic EX SOHC, every trip is an adventure. I will truly miss it once I return it. The only feature it does not have is AWD, which may be a plus considering the snow we have been having lately in the Winter (it did handle the snow better than others with the front wheel drive, the AWD would give it that extra traction to make headway since the car itself is low). Other than that, I love it!

Bought it for $15,400 ( excluded taxes & license ). The seat is comfortable, sporty ! The car is fun to drive, city or highway. Its unique exterior design turned alot of heads. No need for premium gas ! Highly recommended !

I sold my Accord in 2002 and got the new Civic. I wanted an economical and reliable commuting car for less money than another Accord. The Civic deliveres on that, but the comfort of my 1-hr (2x daily) commute has suffered a great deal. Within 1st 6 mos of ownership, the annoying sqeaks in the dash, doors and pillars started to creep up. Now they are a daily occurance. I tried everything, but they keep coming back. Too much road noise in the cabin makes the already- weak audio system even less enjoyable. Seats are not supportive for long commutes. I would rather own a solid and comfortable sedan with worse gas mileage.

I have only had the car for a couple weeks but this car rocks. It has gotten great gas mileage so far, first tank 32 mpg, second tank 35 mpg, and third tank 37 mpg. The car accelerates great. I love the way it drives. It looks really sharp. I have got lots of compliments on how cool the car looks. I also love how the speedometer and gas gage are built way up so you can look at them while driving. What a great car.

I have had the car two weeks and have had no problems with it other than adjusting to automatic transmission from manual and the automatic windows and door locks. It is very easy to handle and takes corners smoothly. It drives like an automatic so I can hear when the engine wants to shift and since Im used to manual, I would shift it at a few different RPMs but I am getting used to it. I rated it low as fun to drive because manual transmission is more fun to drive. The dealer didnt have any manuals so I thought I would try automatic. If you are really set on manual I would hold out for it as automatic is not the same thing.

i have an acura 94 with 180K and a new civic(my fifth honda) and wouldnt even think about owning anything but a honda.as the ford focus racks up safety recalls(11 more-than any car in the last 30 years),VWs ignition coils fail- 02 and 03, and GM buys 50,000 honda V6 engines, all others try to keep up and Honda leaves the pack behind. The only car maker honda can see over its shoulder off in the distance is Toyota= no motorcycle market not to mention no ATVs,Lawnmowers, generators, snowblowers. ...etc...that is why they have to give deep discounts to sell cars.
