Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Not Bad for an Econobox - 2009 Honda Civic

I "traded down" from a Titan and 1 year/ 22k later, I am very pleased. I average 30 MPH in mixed driving, 36 MPG on the interstate at 80MPH with AC. The car handles VERY well. Its smooth with minimal body roll. In dry weather, it can stick to a 25mph cloverleaf at 55mph, no sweat. I dont like the sound of most 4cyls, but the R18 actually sounds pretty good. Do not expect this car (1.8 + auto) to be a rocket. It will move if you mash it past 3.5k, but at a serious fuel cost. There is minimal rolling resistance, so it is easy to glide up to and hold cruising speeds to save gas without any "hypermiling" nonsense. The interior is generally ergonomically correct, and can accommodate 4 adults.

I bought this car brand new off the lot. Lots of modifications done to it. If your settings are right, this car can overtake idiots on the roads around corners. I had modified the suspension to give it superior handling, way better than stock, readjust the throttle cable, replace the intake and headers to give it a more smooth flow, lighten it, added kits for aerodynamic stability at high speeds and this is no stock vehicle. With all of my experimentation had me driving just about 470 miles with half a gallon of gas left in the tank. Less weight = quicker acceleration = less fuel usage.

  • Good car for the money - 2008 Honda Civic

I bought my car with 24 miles on it. Its been a good car. Youre not going to blow anyone away off the line with the 1.8L engine, but you will get great gas mileage. I average around 39 mpg year round. Higher in the summer, lower in the winter. Nothing has broken yet, but it shouldnt on a three year old car. I do my own tires, own oil changes, and own repairs. The car is well designed and seems to be well built. I do have some issues with the paint. Honda did a poor job painting the car and I noticed several areas where theres some blob under the clear coat. Like dirt or dust got on the car.

  • Satisfaction Survey for my 2003 Honda - 2003 Honda Civic

I purchased the car prior to this car six years age, a 1996 Toyota Camry, at the same dealership, Phillipsburg/Easton Honda, and was very pleased with that car as well. I put my trust in this car dealership. I enjoyed driving my Toyota during my ownership. This car, my Honda Civic, is so much fun to drive ( it has a sun- roof). Thank you for the opportunity to voice my review.

I bought this car in 2004 with 32,000 miles. It has now 150,000 miles and still runs GREAT. Fuel economy is awesome. I drive a lot and Ive taken my car everywhere and weve never had a serious problem with it. Of course, we keep it well maintained. The most serious problem Ive had with it, was when I had to replace a part of the engine that cost almost $1,000 dollars. we also had to replace the radiator, but this is a very reliable car. I love it!

Great Car!! Here are the cars I have owned in the past few years. (I change my cars about every 6 months). I have a friend in the car business so when a new deal comes up we sell my car and get a new pre-owned one. I have had a Lexus ES300, Infinity I30, Two Lincoln Continentals and my last car was an Acura RL. I no longer look for or want another car. My 2008 Civic EX is a keeper.

I recently purchased a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid, though I had to get rid of my ever so fun to drive G35 the car is remarkable with respect to fuel efficiency. The layout of the car is simple, just like all Hondas. The power is on the low side, but lets face, we buy these cars for one reason and thats fuel economy. I wouldnt care if I had to get out and push the car up a hill (which it almost seems like I have to do living in Upstate NY), as long as Im getting my 50 MPG let every other car pass me on the road. Im purchasing a new set of Cooper GFE (LRR) tires and Im hoping to eek out a few more MPG.

  • Great car but overpriced - 2007 Honda Civic

Car gave me no problems which was important to me. A lot of recalls since i purchased the car. Interior cloth seats are cheap and wear uneven with regular use. The stereo knobs are backwards.climate controls are on the bottom and radio is above it, making it uncomfortable.Still not use to it after 4 yrs. I paid 18,500 which is a lot considering could have a GM compatible car for 5,000 less and kept the profits in good old USA. Would definitely buy American car next time.

This car is the most fun you are ever going to have in a small coupe -- and its stick only so you really have to drive it -- no easy peasy automatic transmission for real drivers. 200 hp in a light weight small car means your power to weight ratio is obscene. And when you floor the throttle in mid gear it takes off like a rocket, but sticks to the road like glue in the corners. Now if they would just make a convertible.
