Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Simply a good car - 2000 Honda Civic

This car has been fun to drive, very reliable, and fantastic on fuel economy.

Ive had the car just over 6 weeks and am very pleased. I mostly do freeway driving on my 52 mile round trip commute. I bought it for the mileage and have been getting about 46 on the freeway without doing anything extreme. The road noise is higher than I like and the radio could be better but generally Im very satisfied.

Weve had our Civic lx (4dr a/t) for a year and a half, 26,000 miles on it. The car is quiet with very little road noise. Gas mileage is not as advertised on the window sticker (30 city 40 hwy). Rather Im getting about 24 mpg combined city/hwy feathering the gas pedal. The gas mileage got better after 18 or 19,000 miles, averaging 28 mpg combined. After about 20,000 miles the bumps and holes feel harsher. As the car racks up miles the fuel economy gets better but ride quality doesnt. The drivers side sun visor split in half and, it didnt want to stay closed it was replaced under warranty. Overall the car is fun to drive with zippy handling and performance. Interior and exterior design is great.

  • My 2017 Civic Sedan Touring (Cosmic Blue) -sr - 2017 Honda Civic

I purchased my 2017 Civic Sedan over 3 weeks ago and I am overall very happy with the car. I even saw the new 2017 BMW 330xi and I consider my 2017 Honda Civic Sedan better inside (the BMW seemed dated and disjointed in location of the infotainment pad, etc). The cosmic blue with gray interior really looks nice, almost a gunmetal blue-gray look to it. Good acceleration, smooth ride, good safety options (including anti collision etc) are only a few of the features that I like the most. Yes, the anti collision warnings can be a little excessive but better to hear a warning than have an accident. The right side blind spot camera is nice as well. Even the remote auto start as well as walkaway lock where the car automatically locks itself when I walk more than 4-5 feet away with the key fob, are very nice options. Apple Car play is my favorite infotainment option and location of the pad is perfectly placed. The trunk seems a bit smaller than the 2010 Civic Sedan but not by much. For the price, you get a lot. I compare the comfort and options on par with Acura or BMW. Average fuel economy is in the 32-35 range for how I drive in traffic every day. Overall, this is definitely one of the nicest small/mid-size sedans you can buy. Sporty style but with the polished amenities of a luxury sedan.

  • Love my Scarlett - 2015 Honda Civic

2015 Red SI Sedan. Bought used with 4k on the odo in 2016. Previous owner had it for exactly one year. Great sports car and bang for the buck. This is not a euro luxo sports car. Its a drivers car. If youre looking for a luxo euro feel move on, this is not for you. 205 horses get up and go very nicely. Shift throws are wonderful. Handling on Continentals factory equipped is really nice. Im 6 1" and fit comfortably, seats grab you and settle you in. Again, sports car feel. You can pay more and get more (Focus, WRX or WRX STI) but the performance of the SI and value is unbeatable. Had a 96 civic with over 300k that my son now drives so its a Honda with Honda reliability. Love the touch screen and the stereo. Mine does not have the navi system on it so i cant really comment on it. My only 2 complaints, drivers side mirror does not toggle far enough to the right so there is a blind spot and you need to be careful changing lanes to the drivers side (left side has the camera, maybe this gets tweaked in 2017). I miss the temperature and oil gauges which are now idiot lights. Other than that, i am super happy with this car. Its a joy to drive in the city or the highway and i get 32 mpg on the highway at 75-80. Hopefully plan to drive this one for a few years as well.

  • My black beauty - 2007 Honda Civic
    By -

Traded in my 01 Mustang GT auto for my black beauty for a Valentines Day present for myself. I wanted something FAST, manual trans, and good on gas. After the test drive, I couldnt wait to bring her home. Long trips can be uncomfortable and stiff, but is expected due to the tight suspension. She now has 22k on her. My friends were impressed with how large the interior looked compared to the Civics of the past. I get tried at the traffic light and there is always some punk wanting to race me but I dont have to. The car speaks for itself :-)
