Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  I have only had this vehicle for two weeks but I love it! It is so smooth driving it and you will not believe how quiet it is. I dont know about gas milage yet because it still has a half a tank of fuel. it is showing 270 miles. The auto transmission is great. You never feel any shifting like in a regular auto. great car

  i have had my si for a couple years now and the car is still a blast to drive i havent had any mechanicle problems with the car except for a clutch replacement at 52000 the car was driven pretty hard and i think it would of lasted longer with more care there are alot of aftermarket parts to make this car more of a si my car is still fun because every time i have a little extra $$ i buy a part ihave aem cold air header/downpipe motor mount inserts tuff to put in but worth it the car feels more rigid/racecarish in the end i dont regret this car one bit

  Surprisingly Nice - 2004 Honda Civic

  I have a 2000 Accord EX with leather and sunroof but bought the Civic EX with sunroof and cloth interior for commuting a fair distance to work. Its surprisingly comfortable and runs great...very smooth for a small car. This model has more headroom than my daughters 2000 Civic.

  It handles like a 5-series BMW, but gets twice the gas mileage. The steering is very quick- something new this year is that the steering is only 2.6 turns lock to lock, so it is very sensitive especially at highway speeds.

  This is the first Civic Ive owned; I owned 4 Accords in the past and all were very reliable. The Civic is now the size of the older Accords, which I like. Great gas mileage, peppy little 4- cylinder and handling like a sports car.

  This car is not a street racer but it is very fun to drive. The price and the usual reliablity of Honda made this an excellent buy!

  Ive had this car now for a little over a 1000 miles and man do I have a lot to say about it - and not all good. The windshield and sloped hood make it almost impossible to gauge how close you are to something and makes it hard to park tightly. The 160 watt radio is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! The controls for most of the components - awkwardly placed and an eye sore. The Bluetooth - a complete failure/hard to use (Mazda and Nissan system were much better - I know because I rented both). Traction/assisted steering/whatever the heck its supposed to be - does little (in fact feels more responsive when its off). What a joke! Really Civic? You got me at hello but now I a divorce.

  Be Careful of Manufactures defects - 2008 Honda Civic

  I know Honda is a great car, however, I am now on my 3rd replacement of the drives side door panel. There are blemishes and white spots along with over-spray on the bottom of the rear bumper panel. I have 3200 miles on the car and so far I have no complaints as far as any performance issues. I suggest when you buy any car to go over it with a very good eye. The dealership promises you the world before you purchase it as any car salesman would do to get your money. Its a great car however, look over it closely before you buy it for nicks and an body discrepancies.

  Car for the People - 2012 Honda Civic

  I am in my 60s and I cannot see the front end of my 2012 Civic. I will be taking it back. Honda is making cars for the dumbing down public. If you cannot see the front when driving, then you and everyone else is at risk.
