Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Absolutley Stunning - 2006 Honda Civic

I cant believe this is an economy car. Ive had a love affair with Hondas all of my life, specifically the Civic. Now, I have one! I traded a Corolla CE for this car. Interesting to note, the Civic competes well with the new Volkswagen GTI in a few areas: both cars are environmentally above average, both have moveable arm rests, air bags galore and handle almost the same. I love this car. I am getting used to the dual display, but it wont take long. This car is solid and fun to drive. I just hope my gas mileage increases.

  • Pros and Cons. - 2006 Honda Civic

pro: It really is fun to drive with the added horsepower, reliability and best of all the gas mileage saves me a lot. Con: There are noises/squeaks/rattles here and there that sometimes dealers having a hard time to duplicate. but i dont think that affects the performance of the car. Im not sure if they already addressed these problems on 2007 model.

  • Long term reliability concerns - 2006 Honda Civic

I had 4 door DX-G for over 2 years, have 45K miles on it. The bad: Stock tires are really summer tires only. After 25K miles they had minimum tread left and had to be replaced. Front brakes started making squeaking and grinding sound after 20K miles. After installing another set of pads and not fixing the problems I had to replace rotors and pads at just over 30K miles. Front wheel bearings were replaced under warranty at 30K miles after developing noise. Few weeks later I got a letter from Honda about the recall affecting wheel bearings on most 2006 models. Sometimes for no reason the car takes longer than normal to start (few seconds of starter spinning with the engine not catching)

  • Civic SI, you cant beat it. - 2007 Honda Civic

This care is terrific. My girlfriend bought one and I was/am a staunch VW supporter who drives a 1.8T. I have to say this Honda is first class and for the features it comes with you couldnt touch a VW for less than 30,000 with the same features. It looks really sharp and sounds incredible when you get into the VTEC range.

  • Great Car - 2005 Honda Civic

Driving position feels like a coupe. Tight build quality. Great fuel economy and quality meterials used throughout. Far superior to my 98 Jetta. While not a performance car, the performance is evrything I expected from a Honda and more. Very comfortable feeling from the brakes and no jack rabbit acceleration. A truely refined compact. I can see why its "Best in Class".

This car is great, iv had it for 15 months and nothing has gone wrong with it. It is very dependable. Also the stock sound system is very good.

Dont believe the middling press on the Civic Si; its a great car. You can take my word for it. Im not a Honda freak like some people, though I do have great respect for the company. The Si might not be the fastest in its class, but its plenty quick and much more refined. It feels rock solid like a German car, which makes sense because it was engineered in Germany. I have had very few problems with my car, only minor rattles that seem to come and go with the weather. Styling is a take-it- or-leave-it proposition. I happen to like it.

  • Bummed out bigtime - 2001 Honda Civic
    By -

i was pumped about getting a civic, but i think the 2001 model, the new bodystyle, was a big mistake. they really need to stop making these cars with american parts in america. the brakes make a loud clunking sound every time i drive for the first time in a few hours. the rattles inside are amazingly, shockingly baaad, and ive already had them fixed twice. the left rear shock now squeaks badly and it sounds like an old car. with 23000 miles, this vehicle should not be having any of these problems. also the road noise is incredibly loud. very weak engine. overall i am extremely disappointed i look forward to trading it in for a toyota.

  • The Coupe you want! - 2016 Honda Civic
    By -

After owning several Hondas I left the brand a couple years ago and leased a Lexus. With the introduction of the 2016 Civic I returned to the Honda brand and purchased a 2016 Civic Coupe in touring trim - which is loaded to the gills. I couldnt be happier to be rid of my Lexus because I now have a car with more features for half the cost, and the interior, noise and harshness levels, and ride quality all mimic a car costing thousands more. Everything seems really well put together, the only complaint I have thus far is the drivers seat is a bit firm - but after a leather treatment it seems a bit more flexible. Id definitely recommend this vehicle to anyone seeking a premium coupe loaded with luxury, tech, and safety features for not a lot of money.

  • Superb little car! - 2007 Honda Civic

This is a superb car! Its very powerful for that comparatively small engine. Both the interior and exterior are attractive. Buttons/controls are well placed. The interiors are very spacious and so is the boot....I didnt expect the boot to be so big considering that its a coupe. Honda has done a great job in making a compact yet spacious car. Overall this car drives very smoothly and gives good mileage too! Im happy with my experiences. A smart, powerful, economical car is how I will summarize it. Go for it!
