Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • My first Honda - wont be my last! - 2004 Honda Civic

I bought a Honda after having American made cars. I had heard about the reliability and higher resale of Japanese cars and decided that I wanted some of that after having a few lemons. I have not been disappointed! My Civic is great. I drive about 32K per year, and since I spend so much time in my car, I needed one that would be reliable, comfortable, and get great gas mileage. My Civic is all of these. Plus, it looks great!

  • So Fun & Stylish! - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

Purchased this car November. I had to wait 3 weeks for the car, but well worth it. I have over 2,000 miles. Great in snow and rain held the road great. Love the new design. People are always turning heads. Smooth ride! Cant even hear engine. Cabin Noise is so Quiet. Got over 40mpg on highway! Comfy seats. Love big windshield. Great turning radius. Looked at Prius and this is more stylish and about 5K $ cheaper! Very spacious for a compact car. Highly reccomend this car!! I never write reviews but had to with this car.

  • Rid of the gas guzzling pickup - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

OK, I went from a crew cab, fully loaded, Nissan Titan LE pickup to the Civic EX-L -- and I have not had this much fun in a long time. I traded, taking not too bad a loss on the trade, because of the gas prices, and long-term questionable reliability of the Titan. The Civic EX-L Coupe is another story. I am 62" tall and weigh 240, yet I can easily get in and drive this little pocket rocket and feel very comfortable doing so. Styling is great, love the leather, and acceleration is whatever you want it to be. Some comments note a blind spot. Can you people not adjust your mirrors? Properly adjusted, you never have to turn your head to change lanes. Buy this car for fun and economy.

  • Civics are GREAT - 2004 Honda Civic
    By -

I have had two civics. A 2001 LX Coupe with side airbags and my current one, a 2004 EX Coupe with side airbags. They both were excellent cars and never gave me any problems. They are also very easy to keep maintenance on. They do not require a lot. It is very fun to drive and extremely gas efficient.

  • Fun to drive - 2004 Honda Civic

Fun to drive, Saves on gas. Easy to drive in rain, goes up hills fast. Gets good milage.

  • Civic Minded - 2001 Honda Civic

Pros: Reliability, resale value, build quality, service intervals, ergos, great 5-speed, gas mileage, longevity potential, ULEV status, design, interior room, safety rating, trunk size, proven engine, comfy seats, aftermarket potential and fun-to-drive factor. Cons: No passenger side power lock switch, rear suspension bounciness, highly reflective rear glass, no ABS, rear drums, premature low fuel gauge warning, overly thin sheet metal, non venting rear windows.

  • Great Car - 2006 Honda Civic

Have driven the car for about 1 month, and have almost 3000 miles. Hwy 38 mpg and city 29 mpg. Runs good and fun to drive. Only complaint is the seat. Cannot adjust the lumbar support.
