Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Great Car - However tall drivers beware - 2010 Honda Civic
By Mac - November 25 - 2:00 amI bought the 2010 LX-S as a replacement for my 2002 LX.I commute 90 miles a day-my 02 was great, not the fanciest car on the road, but went 175K comfortable miles with no issues. With this history I blindly bought the 2010 expecting at least the same as my 02. I went for the obligatory test drive, but it was more a formality-I was buying a new Civic.Dont get me wrong, the 2010 is a great car.It looks great (silver w/alloys) and the MPG is 30-34. My only caution to a potential buyer is the driver cabin is tight. Im 6 2" and the placement of the e- brake causes my leg to go numb. The front leg room is very tight for a big & tall driver. Please keep this in mind on your test drive-I missed it.

Good, Fun - 2005 Honda Civic
By good12312 - November 22 - 2:00 amWell at 90K miles now with only new front brake pads and an oxygen sensor. Car still looks and feels new, no rattles, noting falling off. With the manual I can get all the power I need. Gas mileage is 35 mpg city.

First Honda for us - 2010 Honda Civic
By LakeMichi - November 21 - 2:00 amLove the speed hub, sun roof, mileage. Zippy little car for a 1.8. Kind of hard to see when on curves due to blind spots of front window frames. Firm ride, but a bit of road noise inside. Not luxurious, but serviceable. Next time I think well get the CR-V to contend with winter driving conditions. We have yet to drive this in snow, but I feel better sitting up higher in a CR-V and having 4-wheel drive.

Love my DX - 1990 Honda Civic
By HunterXhatch - November 21 - 2:00 amGot it earlier this year. I love this little car. I have rebuilt the 1.5L motor and but the B16 head on it so I could wire in VTEC. Have K&N Cool air intake. Love the 5 spd tranny. Repainted the car SI blue and added keyless entry and alarm system. Gets amazing gas mileage, right at 38 highway. Wish that interior had cup holders but thats it. Love the vinyl headliner. Has a a lot of room despite its size. Love how low it sits. Its a real head turner. I would never own anything other than a civic dx hatch again.

Excessive road noise and rattles! - 2010 Honda Civic
By Icky - November 20 - 2:00 amVery disappointed, road noise over even slight imperfections on roads is very loud and distracting. If you were to drive over a penny on the road you would hear it ! @10,000 KM various rattles have developed, in glove box, sun visor, seat belt mechanism. I used to like going for drives, but not anymore since buying this car. My 1999 Civic I traded in put this car to complete shame when it comes to refinement. I will likely never by a Honda product again. Honda quality appears to be a thing of the past. How anyone can recommend a car with this level of road noise and rattles is beyond me. This could have been a great car, if Honda engineers paid some attention to detail. Buyer beware !

Great Car - 2002 Honda Civic
By Michael Petersen - November 18 - 2:00 amWe bought our Honda as a 2002 closeout and have never looked back. While the car has picked up a few dings and scratches here and there over the last 8 years, it has not failed to perform. We put 1500 miles on it over 6 days this past summer while running the A/C and got 36 mpg (all before the 110K checkup). Great gas and oil car. Only issues weve had were replacing the front struts and replaced the V-Tech valve. Only complaint is the front disk pads wear all too quickly (40K miles), but other than that, its a great car.

Nice car - 2001 Honda Civic
By joe - November 18 - 2:00 amI bought my Civic with 40k on it. I had to replace the headliner because it was sagging. I am a hated car salesman so I do get a big break on items I also replaced struts a few and cabin filter. The car does very well in the snow and gas mileage is excellent. I paid 5500 for it. I will replace timing belt soon. I am very happy with this car

I Love My Honda Civic - 2010 Honda Civic
By Marilyn Burtis - November 17 - 2:00 amI just purchased my Honda Civic and love it. I give it an excellent all the way around. I feel like the car is built for dependability and find it a joy to drive. I have no negative comments about the car. All I keep saying is I Love Driving My Honda and I am glad I made the decision to purchase it. I would recommend a Honda Civic (or any other model Honda) to anyone looking to purchase a new vehicle.

MPG Exceeds EPA Range for Highway - 2008 Honda Civic
By back44 - November 15 - 2:00 amWe bought the Civic EX with the 1.8 liter engine when fuel prices were approaching $4.00 per gallon. We recently averaged 39 mpg over a 2200 mile trip much of it through mountainous terrain. My best mileage was at 45 mpg over a newly paved interstate. The smoothness of the road helps in delivering good mileage. And driving at the posted interstate speed of 70 MPH does not diminish the mpg. The Civic averages about 28 mpg in town.

Why? - 2009 Honda Civic
By BobbyJ - November 15 - 2:00 amCompletely gutless. Beyond boring to drive. Looks terrible. This car goes for fuel economy and lets everything else suffer. Never again will I buy a Honda product.
