Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value.   Best Reliable car Ive had! - 2003 Honda Civic

  Battery sucks...had battery issues before I reached 100K miles and Check engine light went on because of it. However, I wasnt going to pay 3K for replacment batteries and just ran the car without the extra HP the batteries would have given me. I still get 50 mph, and 200K miles later its still going strong. I have 310k miles on it now and runs great! Havent really replaced anything on it except tires, oil, and struts. Everything on it is pretty much original!

  Love at first gear - 2006 Honda Civic

  Honda has come out with a truly outstanding vehice. Changing this year from the boxy hatch back that is so mimiked by everyone else, to a truly phenominal vehicle. Spacious passenger space and plenty of cargo space, all packed in a fast and efficient piece of machinery. The new innovation of the displays, speedo above, others below is a crowning touch to a true masterpiece. The energy is best described when I tell people that I am in third gear doing 50 and then shift to 4th. The vehicle understands when you are in gear to travel, and switches to being in gear to perform, on demand. Good job HONDA Motors. And thank you, Kathy

  My Sweet New Civic.... - 2009 Honda Civic

  Decided to buy a Civic for my first new car. I have had it for 1 week/150 miles. Seriously considered Toyota Yaris/ VW Rabbit. Yaris was not as solid (felt shaky when compared to Civic) and VW has a reputation for being unreliable. You cannot go wrong with Honda-they are truly built to last. My Civic is not even half empty and the mileage is ~150 (and Ive been driving in city traffic, stop/go). The AC is amazing. The lowest setting keeps me cool in the summer heat of Tucson. The sound system is excellent (would like a little bit more bass!, the interior is very comfortable, and the engine has alot of pep. Of course, Im still breaking it in so Im taking it easy on the acceleration.

  Ive owned Mercedes , Range Rover, town and country, vetted etc.... this is the best new car I ever bought. No/low maintenance , great handling.... just plain simple solid car that would my quit... buy one while the others are in the garage!!!!

  Excellent Vehicle - 2005 Honda Civic

  This is my second Honda civic and I am once again satisfied. My career is in automotive engineering and I can say that Honda is the best. This car is everything that I expected it to be. There are no cons about it. Some pros are the excellent interior and exterior fit and finish. The transmission shifts seamlessly, the engine runs perfectly, and the gauges, stereo system, wheels, EVERYTHING is just perfect! The gas milegae is 38.0 on highway just as advertised, and 34 city/highway. One of the most favorable features is the 10000 mile oil change. Im not afraid to wait that long on this car, but there is no way I would wait that long on another vehicle (except maybe Toyota).

  Traded in my troublesome 2000 Acura TL on this hottie and loved it. Quick and fun, it brought back the spirit of my old original VW Rabbit. Seats are wonderful... drove it cross country (California to Maryland) in 2-1/2 days (with longest day 16 hours) and arrived rested, not tired. The car just clicked off the Interstate miles. Averaged 67 mph including fuel and food stops and got 26.34 mpg. Gripes: Syncros arent up to quick 1-2 shifts. Its easy to grind the gears. No problem running on 87 octane gas, but make sure its from a "quality" retailer... it pings mercilessly on cheap gas.

  2003 Civic Si - 2003 Honda Civic

  I like this little car. I had a 2000 Ford Focus ZX3, although the Focus felt like it pulled a little harder, I feel that The Civic Si is much more in control. The vehicle is very smooth and comfortable. The shifter location looks awkward, but I assure you it feels like it was put in the right place. The fit and finish, performance and stability is typical for Honda. This is my third Honda, I currently also own a 2002 Honda Odyssey. Improvements that should be made is an addition of an arm rest and larger wheels.

  So far the car has been without major problems. however, the minor ones are cumulative and annoying. First the driver side window got stuck. Replaced under warranty but now the panel control on the driver side comes loose when the drivers door gets closed with windows open. The sunroof rattles as well as the glove box. Stock tires are donuts!!!

  Spectacular - 2008 Honda Civic

  This car has given me faith in compact cars. Before I bought this car I never liked compacts since Im a tall dude. But the space in the care is remarkable. The drive is notable as well as its smooth cornering at sharp bends. Honda,once again, has lived up to expectation.

  I have had an excellent experience with buying and driving this civic. Awesome engineering, fun to drive, pure pleasure. a/c, audio , all controls, seats, appearance, all tip top. I researched for 2 years; si coupe beat all.
