Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  I love my new civic. I had a 1997 civic, so the redesign was a fantastic improvement. It truly feels like a luxury vehicle, at half the price. The gas mileage is terrific, too. Be warned about buying one, the three dealerships I went to in the Orlando area printed out the Edmunds TMV info from this webpage, and would NOT go below that price. Its too popular to haggle, apparently.

  Bought the Civic a week ago and it is better than I ever expected. MPG has ranged from 34 to 39.5 and it is very comfortable to drive. Ive put just over 1,300 miles on the vehicle in the first week and so far Im very impressed. I have plenty of headroom even with the sunroof.

  I have owned a black 06 Civic LX 4DR MT for 6 months and would buy another in a heartbeat. Every facet of the design is of a quality that warrants paying more for the Civic than other cars in its class. My favorite feature is the "Heads Up Display" because I can keep my eyes on the road and closely monitor my speed with my peripheral vision. Some have claimed it annoying at night, but it can easily be dimmed. Other favorites are the microfiber cloth seats that have helped ease back strain from my previous vehicle, very quiet and smooth engine performance, outstanding suspension, and of course the excellent fuel economy. I cant give a precise fuel economy, but its about 40mpg highway.

  This car is one performance bargin for the dollar. I got the car for 20,540 which was sticker. do not pay over sticker, these cars can be found for sticker. 197 hp from 2.0 liter engine, no turbo,no s/c, amazing.I have 8000 miles, no problems whatsoever. excellent build qualilty throughout.

  Overall, a very nice little care. Not getting the gas mileage predicted (about 28 mpg in city driving). Purchased for daughter because I wanted the safety features but my wife and I drive a lot because its fun to drive.

  07 Civic Ex - 2007 Honda Civic

  I have owned my used 07 civic with 5800 miles on it for over a year. Apparently the previous owner traded it for a CR-V. Right now it has over 20K miles and I have no complains. It looks good, GREAT performance and GREAT reliability. I live just outside of Chicago so in winter it gives me about 29 mpg on average and the summer is around 32 mpg both mixed driving. EXTREMELY happy.

  Best buy for thrifty people - 2006 Honda Civic

  We are glad we went with the EX model because of all the extras we didnt need but are very happy to have after we used them. We like its Sporty look. Im 6 feet tall and was suprised of how much room this car has in the back and front seat area. We were surprised at how much get up and go this car has. We dont understand why we dont see more 2006 Civic models on the road. Being thrifty people we feel this car was the best choice out of all the cars out there today.

  Great lil car! but... got tires? - 2002 Honda Civic

  Ok, so maybe its a little premature to write a review on my car already. I just purchase a new 2002 Civic Si about a week and a half ago.So far Ive been very pleased with my purchase. The car in Si form is quite eye catching.. especially my color (euro yellow). The interior doesnt bore me at all, especially the shifter position (which all my friends find quite exciting). The gas milease seems to be getting a little better now. The first tank sucked. Overall it is a very fun, compact, daily driver.
