Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Planet saver with a Big price tag - 2004 Honda Civic

Legendary Honda built and quality for engine, chassis, suspension. Questionable reliability of battery & electric motor. Ride quality is firm, handling is acceptable and price is slightly on the high side. Acceleration is fair.

  • Great Car!!! - 2002 Honda Civic

This is a great car for a single person or a married couple with no kids or pets. Theres lots of room for two and four can fit comfortably, though head room in the back is a little tight for full sized adults. The Civic is a fun car to drive, with great handling and plenty of pep.

  • Honda reliability is not just a catch phrase - 2003 Honda Civic
    By -

Honda reliability is not just a catch phrase its real. I just purchased this car. For a 13 year old car I have to say its humble, slightly under powered but cost effective commuting car. Its nothing fancy, but it will last in years to come. BEST part of this car is the low maintenance fees. Newer Hondas dont have fuel filters and have instrument clusters that constantly tell you to take them into the dealer for maintenance. Honda figured out they were building their cars too reliable. There will never be a new Honda like these older Civics.

  • Mid-life crisis car gone hybrid - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

Solitude npr on the radio on the back roads for the morning commute. Its jazz, cruise control and meditation for the freeway. As for the orange barrels and the Emerald green berm it has to a chieftans cd to calm the sea of glistening red tail lights ahead. Then at the end of my day I start my commute home only this time wide awake it be comes a game watching all the gauges maximize speeds, timing lights, taming curves, using hills, and choosing alternatives. No crissis here just a middlelaged man driven to hybrid instead of hemi in the slow lane.

  • Better to drive than to look @ - 2002 Honda Civic
    By -

leasing this 02 SI for 3yrs. have had nothing but Hondas in the past. Wasnt too crazy about the looks, but once I drove it. Sold! A great combination of handling, power, and interior asthetics in a fun to drive car. Considered the Protege 5 and felt more confident in the refinement and dependability of a Honda. Not crazy about the looks, definitely needs larger rims and tires, and maybe a body kit. High cowl doesnt help. Otherwise, a great car for the money!

  • Worth every penny - 2016 Honda Civic

First new car in over 10 years. Worth every penny. I cant imagine driving anything else and being as satisfied with it as I am with the 2016 Civic.

  • So far so good! - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

The Civic is very comfortable to drive. They really put a lot of thought into the little things such as arm rests, cup holders, etc. I use the car for my 60 mile/day commute. Although the gas mileage isn’t as great as the sticker says, it’s still really good.

Civic ex sedan, fun to drive reliable gas saver. good buying and operational experience as a commuter and on long trips. Not as comfortable or fun to drive as vw new bettle, but less expensive to operate, more reliable, and dependable in the long run. great little car for point #A to #B. not a sports sedan but nice.trading in my vw bug for a 2004 Civic like my wifes

  • Exactly what I needed - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

My needs were simple; I am in a household where we typically need a second car from time to time. I wanted a car that delivered good MPG and was safe and reliable that I could pass on to my teenager in a few years. I looked at the compact and subcompacts from Chevrolet, Scion, Toyota, Nissan, Saturn, Pontiac, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Mazda, Hyundai and Kia. The best compliment I can give the car is that I wouldve still bought for myself even if I didnt have a child approaching driving age. I really love driving it on my work commute. It really is a great car that is a much better value than the ones I listed above. Plus, it will be a dependable and safe "starter" car for my kid in a few years.
