Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Smooth engin, power, ride, good design, comfortable interior and the most important safety. Little expansive but worth buying. This car is step before you purchase German Japanese Lux. cars.

Ive had this vehicle for 10mths and the ride drive needs to be improved, it needs alot more power or alot more gas saving, for the little power that it has it is not saving enough gas. Quality and reliability of vehicle is great however the exterior design needs improvement. It is not worth the price I pay for it - the price should be about 17,000 at the most 17,500.

I have the 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid and it is great!Looks and runs outstanding I get more MONEY in MY pocket. The mpg on my car is 46mpg to 50mpg AND I do NOT have to plug it in,just drive it like any other car BUT! watch the money build up in YOUR pocket NOT the Gas Companies pocket.I think the WORLD should buy this "NOW" car until a better model comes along.....MS

  • Whining noise CTV transmission - 2005 Honda Civic
    By -

Am formerly loyal, multi-Honda owner: Had problems from week 1 with intermittent high pitched whine from Hybrid CTV. Honda replaced transmission. 2nd trans was quite for about 1000 miles, then whine started again. VERY DISSATISFIED-6 months of hassles. Honda says this is interent and cannot be fixed....Have asked Honda to buy back or trade for a quite car. Anyone else?

  • Wowwowowowowow - 2008 Honda Civic

First of all the only one i even considered is the mugen. Well why because i wont see hundreds of them on the road also because of the .92 gs on the skid-pad stereo rocks way better than what you think you would get for the money blows my 2008 vw r32 stereo out the water but lets get to business this car handles great. The eighteen inch mugen rims look awesome in the graphite look against the fiji blue paint which is by far the best color on the civic si. Great gas mileage so far about 27 mpg. Wonderful exhaust note especially when it hits vtec. About as fun as it can get for 28k which is a bit steep for any civic but i know the resale will be great go ahead buy one you will love it addictive

  • I love the car...excep... - 2006 Honda Civic

I would recommend this car to anyone...It has made driving fun again for me...plus Im in love with the Honda reliability and styling...The car is great on gas, and also has a great looking interior and exterior. One problem though...After only 900 miles, I notice the the car is pulling to the right...not terribly, but too much for a car that is basically brand new. I brought it to the Honda dealership...they convinced me it was normal as long as you could go straight for 3 car lengths or 6 seconds without touching the wheel I left feeling unsatisfied, because I think a new car should go straight for a long time if youre on a straight road and the wheels are alligned properly.

  • practical performance car? - 1999 Honda Civic
    By -

Ive owned my 99 Si since august of 2003 w/ 63K and I’ve never looked back. Its fun to drive, looks great, and takes corners like none other in its class. I also love the B16a engine and the fact that it could be a fuel miser or a performance machine, depending on what you want at the time. I used to own a 95 GS-R, and while i still think the Integra was sportier, the civic has much more room and 6x9 speakers in the back, so it balances out. Overall, a great car for anyone, but esp. for poor college kids like me who still have the need for speed. I plan on keeping it until it dies (200K+ hopefully).

my honda is the first car I have ever owned. I am 18 years old and I seriously couldnt think of a better car. I get about 35 miles in the city and almost 40 on the highway. I am trying to get myself through college and this car is amazing for money saving. They are very reliable and very fun to drive.

  • Working Woman - 2001 Honda Civic

I am a working woman, driving from Avon to downtown and back at least once a day. My Civic coupe is a joy to drive everyday. It makes being in the car fun! It handles wonderfully both on the highway and in heavy stop- and-go traffic downtown. It usually gets 35 miles to a gallon. Ive had it almost a year and its still as gorgeous as the day I bought it. It has never once give me a problem of any sort. It is roomy, sleek, and sexy. I have owned many cars and it is my favorite.

  • Not what I was expecting - 2001 Honda Civic
    By -

The car is very noisy.you can hear rain drops falling INSIDE your door.I had many other minor breakdowns: the gas tank doesnt know when to tell the gas pump to shut off so gas always overfills, the rubber bumper in front fell off, among MANY other things. Seats are hard, many features standard in other similar cars are not offered in this civic.I have owned this car for about 1 1/2 years, after the initial "break in" of the car, (no pun intended), it seems to run smoother. At least now the ride isnt so jerky.so if you dont mind a lot of time at the dealership the first year getting the little things fixed, this car is ok.
