Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Nice little car - 2004 Honda Civic

Compared to the 2001 Nissan Sentra we traded in, this car is FAR superior. Tightly built, handles well, engine feels spirited across all RPMs, and MUCH more quiet. Plus, the general feel of the Honda controls; its far superior then the clunky feel of its Nissan counterpart. Ill never buy another Nissan again.

  • Spunky Little Car! - 2004 Honda Civic

Perfect commuter car, a great first month with my Civic EX, its sporty and stylish. Make sure that you test everything in your car before purchasing it. Mine had no freon for the AC. How could they miss that? Nevertheless, they were able to add it right away. My prior car was a Corolla so there was a bit of a learning curve with little things like the placement of the radio buttons and AC buttons, cup holders and such. Overall, get the EX with the extra horsepower and all the little extras...its worth it.

  • Worth Buying - 2004 Honda Civic

I recently purchased this car, and the quality of the materials in the interior is great (radio/cd player could use some styling to go with the gauges). For a compact car there is plenty of room in the rear seat and trunk. Gets great mileage and is priced very reasonably when compared to the Corolla when evenly equipped. Thought about the Mazda3, but we all know Hondas hold their value much better than just about another other maker.

  • Traded in my F150 Crew for a Gas Saver - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

I test drove the others and bought the best. With Hondas track record for reliablity and resall value - how can you go wrong? I drove a 2004 F150 Supercrew 65 miles per day round-trip to work. I was getting 13-15 mpg. That was a 26 gallon tank and $60-$75 every 5 days to fill up. This car is fun to drive and with gas now at $2.75/gal - costed me $27.00 to fill up. My first tank on this car got me 32 mpg. The second was 35 mpg. The 5 Speed Manual takes a bit to get used to, but once you do your mpg will go up. The interior is nice to look at. The radio plays Mp3 disks - which means you can burn 100+ songs to a CD-R. Or if you have an Mp3 player there is a plug for it.

  • 2006 Honda Civic EX coupe - 2006 Honda Civic

I bought this vehicle for $19000 (incl dest charge), which seemed like a good price after getting quotes from all over central Texas. I really like the 140 hp engine, which is noticably more powerful than previous models, and its supposed to get up to 40 mpg on the highway! I havent calculated my true mpg yet. I also like the MP3 input and the 350 Watt stereo (sedan comes with 160 Watt). It handles well, and is fairly comfortable, but its no luxury car. The only complaint I have is that it is difficult to see the front of the car with the steep windshield. I have to be cautious when hugging a curb on a turn or parking facing a wall so that I dont hit anything.

  • I still miss my Accura - 2003 Honda Civic
    By -

This car has taken me 66,000 miles without the slightest problem. I drove my last Accura RSX to 180,000 miles on the original clutch. You cannot say too much about the reliability of Honda products. In good old flat Florida the 1500 cc engine is just fine. I found the engine to be very busy in the mountains when I drove out to LA. The handling of the Civic is OK but once you get used to an Accura you are ruined for anything else. My next car will be another RSX.

My 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid has proven to be a comfortable fuel saving purchase. I’m 6’2”, 210 lbs, 44 years young. I drive 20K miles/year, mostly to work and back. Drivers seat is supportive, all gauges and buttons have the perfect feel to them. In fact the entire interior of the car is spot on. Fit, Feel and finish of interior pieces is terrific. Steering wheel controls for radio/cruse control seem backwards. Cruise is on right, radio on left. Be careful about the “XM Ready” radio. Not as ready as buyer might think. Cost to purchase and install needed components are very high. Exterior fit and finish is some of best Ive seen. Body panels line up perfect. Paint is smooth.

We purchased this car used when the fuel prices were so high. Would have loved the Accord, but had to have the gas savings as I drive 40 miles 1 way to work. Disturbing to have loud road noise shortly after buying it & it was the rear control arms that also ruined the rear tires. Also had the visor break. Honda did take care of the problem, but now worried if we made a good decision buying a Honda. Fairly comfortable car but we were used to the ease of getting in/out of an small SUV.
