Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Incredible Car - 2007 Honda Civic

What a great car. One of the best cars I have ever driven. For under $21,000 you cannot beat the standard features. I researched for months what car to get and nothing came close to this in value. Fun car to drive. Good mileage, only down side is premium gas. For the performance that you get it is worth every penny. Interior is also great. Seats are extremely comfortable. All competitors dont even come close to interior quality. Noticed when researching this car that some complained about the smoothness when shifting. Now that I have bought it I do notice a very slight grind when engine cold. However, I have been told by many people it is as easy as changing to better tranny fluid and prob gone

  • Honda Civic hybrid.....LOVE IT - 2006 Honda Civic

Got my car yesterday and immediately fell in love. My husband was impressed how it handles, its roomyness, and comfort. He has a bad back and was very comfy in the seats. The first 80 miles I got 39 mpg!!!. I am so glad a chose the honda, I had been looking at the Prius but finding one is impossible. This Civic is much the car that the Prius is, just not hatchback or bluetooth ( dont care about that anyway)capable and only one cd in cd player. It is a fabulous car regardless. Buy One and see.

The new Civic Si is a practical high performance car. It has 197 h.p. and also gets 32 m.p.g. It is priced under $20,000 and is very well equipped, including sunroof, 350 watt sound system and special Si interior features. After my 1996 Civic the new Si seems like a space ship with the digital speedometer placed like a heads-up display and the steep windshield ahead. The car is very quiet and the 2 liter V-tec engine is as smooth as butter. The drive-by-wire throttle is super responsive and the performance is excellent through all six gears. The electric power steering has a great road feel to it, and has a quick ratio for right-now response. Great job Honda!

  • Handling is down from previous generation - 2016 Honda Civic

Ive had my 2dr Civic coupe (1.5L turbo) for 3 weeks. I spent a lot of time in the beginning setting and resetting the programs like auto door lock (which doors to lock) or unlock, auto ignition as some were not practical or suited to me. With the "drive by wire" steering, theres a somewhat disconnected feel to the steering compared to previous generation Civics. The car is also wider and longer than the previous generation, so steering control did not feel as precise and the tail wagged during hard corner. Pick up is uninspiring below 50mph. The turbo only kicks in at speeds above 3,500 rpm and usually above 50mph. It rarely kicks in in the economy mode. To feel the turbo, turn off the "Eco" button, but your fuel economy will suffer. Best of all is the fuel efficiency - I drove ~240 miles on the highway on a hot 90 degree day with air conditioner on, at 74mph, and averaged 41mpg. Its that incredible for a non-hybrid.

  • I love my Civic - 2007 Honda Civic

I have only had the Civic for a week but I love it. I had been looking for a couple months and finally picked Civic. Its much quicker than I expected. This car drives great! The coupe may be a little tricky to get into for larger adults and the rear seat is out of the question for most adults. But almost everything else is great! The two tier dash board has grown on me, although I didnt care for it at first (too space ship). The car looks great. I have had loads of compliments. One lady said she thought it was an Acura. Ive driven many different cars but the main reason for going with the Civic is the reliability. I expect this car to run great for many years to come.

  • Great Commuter Car - 2008 Honda Civic

Looked at the Corolla S and Mazda 3 before settling on the Civic. Was a toss-up between the Corolla and the Civic but the safety features were slightly better on the Civic. Great little car. Sporty, comfortable, fun to drive, and the mpg is great. My wife drives it as a commuter car and it regularly gets 35+ mpg on the hwy. Overall very pleased so far.

First manual transmission Ive ever driven. Easy to learn smooth clutch. Highly recommend for all users. Not the greatest pick up, but for a 4 cyl fuel efficient car, second to none.

My exl 09 Honda Civic is more than I expected. Im adding mudguards, window visors, moonroof visor, door guards, fitted floor mats, rear spoiler, garmin navigation. Went from VA. To Penn. Two days after buying my car and couldnt believe how great it runs.

  • GOOD VALUE - 2002 Honda Civic
    By -

I purchased my 2002 civic ex with auto trans in december of last year. This is a great car for the price. I previous owned a 1993 ex. I am very happy and impressed by the improvements in the civic. The ac is very good for a car this size, and almost everything else from noise to ride quality is significantly improved. Honda did a good job with this one.

  • Si, Honda Si - 2002 Honda Civic

Purchased after test driving rsx base, protege5 and matrix. far and away above last two; rsx appearance more appealing but interior too plastic and austere (also availability limited and dealers wouldnt.) Made Honda an offer I couldnt refuse (17,800 with tint, mats, mudgards)after pointing out that none of their stock had sold in over a month. Love the car; looks grow on you and it really moves. Not sure what the complaints are about the new suspension; corners and handles as well as any of the other 6 Hondas I have owned.
