Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

This is my first car. Hands down, no contest, this is the best economy car you can get out there. It saves you money with the great gas mileage and maintenance costs. Plus theres the great resale value. The build quality is great. I have the blue ex couple and am very happy with my purchase. Have had the car exactly a year now. Just lacks that all out power, but it does have enough though.

I drive a lot and wanted a car that would perform well and be reliable as well as fuel efficient. I am a devotee of Honda since buying a 9 year old Accord in 1995 that a friend of mine is still driving. The Civic Hybrid fits the bill. Its fun to drive (a little slow out of the gate, but passable) and its even more fun to see it get more than 600 miles to a tank. You cant be that in these times. I will alway be a Honda satisfied customer.

I bought this car as my 02 accord v6 came off lease. With the price of gas figured the civic would treat me better, and it has. My complaints (which seem to be redundant) come from the cheap bits and overall inexpensive feel of the car. After 7000 miles I also have "heel holes" in the drivers floor mat. The passenger window doesnt close (started after 4000 miles), the cloth armrest is beginning to form a hole where my elbow goes, and, after being hit in a parking lot, I am looking at replacing the rear bumper. Hey things happen, but at nearly $400 estimate for the rear bumper ... come on ... I thought this was an economy car! By the way, there is no power lock lever on the passenger side?!?!?

  • Great Hybrid! - 2007 Honda Civic

Great hybrid! I have averaged 49.9 in the first 3200 miles. Great car! My only complaint so far is that I have been getting the IMA light, battery light, check engine light. The dealer reset everything, so well see. Otherwise, it is a great car! As long as you drive conservatively, it is not hard to get 50+ mpg. My last two tanks have been 51.5 and 53. Great car, good buy.

  • The one and only - 2005 Honda Civic

January of 2005, was the first time i had ever bought a honda. The honda civic not only has the reliability and the great gas mileage, but also has the styling bold looks. The only way that i would trade my civic in is by trading to another civic with a sunroof and other features and equipments. Civics are great...

This is my 6th time buying a Honda. 9 between my wife and me. I have the civic, navy blue. She has and Accord. I love driving the Civic more so than driving her Accord. It handles quite well and gets great gas mileage. I love the way it feels inside and out.Bought the extended warranty, not like Ill never need it.

  • Civilized car needing a few improvements - 2003 Honda Civic
    By -

I never thought I would buy a Civic, but I did, and its not quite a bad car. The performance is adequate for its size, and the handling is pretty taut. The interior has a nice look to it, but there are a few substantial rattles that are annoying. Overall quality is decent, but the "tight" feel of everything could be improved. The car really "loosens up" shortly after being purchased. Even with all of this, the fuel economy is what keeps me really happy about my purchase. Good car for the money.
