Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I have had my new civic for about 3 weeks now. This car is a great value for a young family, where driving a mom mobile is just not satisfying. Its great fun to drive, although it does lack the power I expected. This car does not feel or look like it costs. I think anyone who has owned a Honda previously would love this car. We stepped down from looking at Accords to buy this new Civic. I honestly never thought I would be driving a Civic. Its a Honda... you get what you pay for. The new safety features and size increase were crucial in my decision making.

My 2008 civic has a bad hesitation on take off, not sure why but I noticed many people with same issue, otherwise it has pep. The interior on my LX lacks cup holders in the back, the truck does not open from the remote, the roof when washing it buckles, very thin. It has plenty of air bags but probably for good reason. I like the low tire pressure warning. I think for the $ its not a bad car, I use it to drive to work. Gas mileage has been averaging about 31 mpg for me, I am a little heavy on the gas pedal. This is my first Honda, not sure if I would get another one, probably worth shopping around. I was going to get a Mini Cooper, but my wife and kids talked me out of it, maybe next time.

This is a very good car for the money, this is the car that you alway want to drive. I have put almost 20k miles within a year. Just traded it for a miata and Ivemissed it ever since. The sound, and the way it goes through curves is just wonderful. I would recomend it to everyone who wants a fun to drive car while still practical and economical. This car feels more powerful than the miata and has a lot of good features. I miss my Si, I will buy this car back some day just to hear the exhaust note and the sound of the vtec switch over.

If you are looking for an economical vehicle to purchase, fuel up and maintain- look no further. The Sport Hatchback may be "basic" in terms of what you get with creature comforts- but it offers enough driving satisfaction to overcome what it lacks. Its not an Audi, BMW or Mercedes Coupe, but it also can be purchased "out the door" for slightly less than sticker MSRP and with Honda reliability and fuel economy if you are bargain minded you cant really go wrong with the Civic Sport Hatchback. Ive had the car 3 weeks and almost 1,000 miles- no issues.

I have had no problems whatsoever and have been rear ended once (by another Civic no less). The bumper had a scrape which has since been fixed. I only mention this because I have seen bumpers fall off of other cars from less. The fuel mileage is excellent. I average approx. 25 mpg. I have always been a die hard buy American guy. I became sick of working on my cars constantly and decided that my first new car would have to be foreign. When American companies learn to make reliable cars I may actually go back to them.

I love my Honda Civic. I have always been a fan of Hondas and with the Civic it can be both affordable and very classy. It handles very well and is such a nice looking vehicle.

Having a civic hybrid has changed my lifestyle. I spend less time at the gas station and more time enjoying the drive not thinking about how much it is costing me to get there! I sold a three year old mini van and have never regreted it! Ive more than doubled the gas mileage and enjoy driving much more. Knowing that Im helping the environment instead of hurting it is the best part with the low emissions. I wish the rest of the world would see the light.
