Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I love my Si. This would have to be the best Civic built to date. Honda has done a great job with the new design and I am looking forward to see what they have in the line up next!

Ive put 20k on mine in one year oil changes only. Nothing goes wrong with these little cars. Road noise on rough highways make Bluetooth phone useless. 30 bucks gets you cross country on highway with cruise and eco set. Kick back and dont worry about breaking down.

This is an excellent car. Performance and reliability are well above par. The absence of torque is a dissapointment, however the horsepower makes up for it. Very fun to drive. Very reliable, never had a big problem and with over 60K miles

the car was a great buy new. it has held almost all of its value over the last 3 years. 1.6l engine lacks torque, but that is to be expected. fast enough to get the job done, but will not really get you in trouble. understeers in the wet.

  • Great tech, great daily driver, great purchase! - 2016 Honda Civic

Yep, theres no volume knob. Moving on. I drive this car about 25 miles a day for my commute. Ive put a little over 7000 miles on it in the 10 months Ive owned it and am averaging 36.9 mpg. Things I like: acceleration once the turbo kicks in, sport mode, info-tainment system, Android Auto, interior storage, gas mileage, quiet cabin, feeling of quality of interior, brake hold is awesome! Things Im not crazy about: price is a little steep, but not crazy, no adjustable lumbar support (comeon Honda!), CVT is really hesitant from a dead stop. Overall, nothing is perfect, I love this car. To me, the lack of a volume knob is made up for with the touch sensitive steering wheel volume control.

  • Great Choice for the Accident Prone - 2002 Honda Civic

I owned the 2001 Honda Civic for just 3 short weeks before I was hit by a Ford F350 going over 45mph through a red light. I was hit on the passenger side and although my car was deemed a total loss, I survived and if I would have had any passengers with me they all would have been safe as well. The side panels had minimal intrusion to the inside. I was not only impressed but I was grateful for Hondas superior safety features. I now own the 2002 Civic and love it.

Ive owned my car for fifteen days now. It is very comfortable. I feel like Im driving a rental car everyday. My nephew says I drive slower in the new car. Actually I driving the same speed but you cant tell because it is so comfortable inside. You dont hear the engine. I couldnt even hear a train coming the other day. If the lights hadnt started flashing, I may have gotten hit. It doesnt accelerate as fast as my old car (Integra GSR) but I will get used to it one day. The title of my review is safey first because the safety features were what sold me on purchasing this car. I also save a lot on my car insurance.

Fantastic mileage (34mpg city, 47mpg hwy so far), vastly improved shoulder room in frt seat for 6-footer (vs previous model),much better power (140 hp now)- not a rocket, but well matched to veh weight, quiet interior noise levels, 16" wheels + suspension give very planted feeling on the road at all speeds, high build quality and nice brushed aluminum trim levels inside, tight space in back seat, remote keyless buttons contained in key (no fob), modern dash & sloped windshield make it feel very spacious, however you are sitting very low to the road & will look up to other compacts. Shifter (5 spd man) is precise, but Mazda 3 is smoother. Side & side curtain airbags, ABS w/EBD-awesome package.

Pleasantly surprised with the mpg! Replaced a Jetta TDI (dieselgate). Drivability is very good. Love the manual transmission - short throw and sporty.
