Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I love my ride I bought the car used and have not regreted a single moment. I read the reviews and felt it would be a shame not to get one. I have owned three previous hondas, but they were all accords this is my first civic. I am kinda dissapointed that their is no clock on hte dash but I can live with it. I did notice noise coming from the dash as so many reported but no biggie. Fuel is awesome especially with the prices now

  • A regretful buy - 2006 Honda Civic

I bought this car thinking how great it would be to have a good commuter that was also sporty. I figured I would grow to like the interior/exterior. I could not be more wrong. I plain out despise the power delivery. Normal driving I almost never see vtec, so its just like driving around a civic ex for 90% of the time. The handling is great, but how often do I REALLY need to push it to 9/10s? After reading the reviews of the si vs gti more, I finally get it. The gti is a much better daily car for what its meant for. Every magazine did track test, things almost no drive is really going to see. Both cars are just as fast on the street, except I like power down low over vtec.

Far better finishings and iinternal design than most of the competition. Drives and handles very well, very inexpensive in gas and no a single problem to the date.

This car doesnt seem to handle well in the rain regardless of the new tires it has that are made for wet roads. Im quite shocked considering this is my fourth civic, but after 4 years with it, Im ready for a change. I find it too small and not a good choice for someone that will have more than one passenger in their car at a time (other than children or short people) as there isnt much leg room in the back.

I have taken this car on two long mileage trips. The highest hiway mileage I received was 55.8 and the lowest on the road was 47.9. It was fun to drive, handled very nicely.

  • Since I bought it absolutely NO problems - 2012 Honda Civic
    By -

Ive had my 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid for about 3 years. I bought it used with only 25000 miles on it, it now has 74000 miles and so far Ive only replaced the battery and normal maintenance like oil change and tire rotation. This car does GREAT on mpg i get 44 mpg both in the city and highway so dont expect too much power. But overall this is a great car! Very reliable!

I love my new Civic hybrid. My first tank or two was disappointing in the high 30 MPGs, but Ive learned to drive it so that it easily gets into the 50s, and I even had one highway trip of 500 miles average out to over 60 mpg. Those people who are disappointed with the mileage need to realize that if you drive it like a sports car, youre not going to realize the EPA mileage stats - which is true of any car. This car is a far cry from the rusty pickup truck it replaced. It drives incredibly smoothly, and is utterly quiet on the road and at a stoplight. A real pleasure to drive, and Im smiling all the way to the pump. Unlike other hybrids, it looks, feels, and drives like a real car!

  • Its been 6 mths, I still love it! - 2006 Honda Civic

I cant stop looking at my car. Its been 6 months. Smooth transmission. Comfortable luxurious ride, great gas mileage (I can drive 1.5 weeks on 1 tank). It looks SHARP! Love the navi, the cd player with pc card and mp3 player. I tell people I have a Honda Civic, they are unimpressed... "reliable, good gas saver". I tell them "no, you got to come look at it, sit in it!". And when they do, they are like "you are right, this is a nice car!"

  • Fun ride - 2010 Honda Civic

I just got this car last night and thus far in my opinion its pretty sick. I dont have money pouring out my ears, so I feel theres a lot of bang for your buck in this one. Corners great, quick acceleration. Love the nav in it, that really can pull the interior together. Had leather seats in my old car and they just got visibly scuffed up so I like this material, and it doesnt melt skin in the summer. Only had it for a day so I may be jumping the gun, but I love it up to this point. Its also not too fast which is good, it does keep you out of trouble. (maybe my favorite feature) I would certainly advise people to buy this car.
