Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  After careful review for several months, I decided that the redesigned Honda Civic for 2002 was the automobile for me. I purchased my 2-door coupe in March of 2002, when the car makers were having wonderful finance offerings. I will have the car paid off after only three years - the resale value is big plus. My next car will be either a Honda Civic 4-door, or a 4-door Honda Accord.

  The test drive is what sold me. I test drove the Civic Si and Toyota Matrix xrs on the same day. The fun factor was the difference. The car accelerated to highway speed without any hesitation with 3 occupants and the a/c on. The car has plenty of power. It was a few days until I had driven it at night. The display glows orange. Its pretty cool. The front seats are very supportive.

  Reliable and carefree little car. Just remember to do scheduled maintenance and you never worry about anything. Exterior design is not eye-catching but is actually better than most of other brands (except for 00 Jetta).

  If youre considering a Civic, then you already know its tops in safety and gas mileage. You should also know that its the 2006 Motor Trend Car of the Year, having beat out 28 other cars for that distinctive title. What you get for the money is phenomenal. Months of taking everything into consideration culminated in my buying the Civic EX sedan, and Im very pleased for the most part. I had the deck spoiler added on (not the wing), as well as the chrome exhaust tip. Those two add-ons have given it a European design look, and it gets mistaken for an Acura or Audi. Fun to drive, like a go-cart. Pull the one- touch sunroof back and open the front windows, and youll swear its a convertible!

  I just wish that everyone could have at least one honda! The acceleration and handling are startling. The ride is smooth and quiet and my gas mileage has been ABOVE the epa estimates. Im precisely and consistently getting 32-35 mpg in town and 38-41 mpg on the highway! my surfboards, golf clubs, and skis all fit nicely inside and the sound system is causing extensive hearing loss because it sounds so good at high volume. Run, dont walk, to your nearest honda dealer when its time for a new or used car.

  Last Honda Ill ever buy - 2006 Honda Civic

  Must be another version of the 2006 Civic I dont have. Whats wrong? Unacceptable radio reception. Most uncomfortable seat I have ever had in an automobile. Auto 5spd is a disaster around town (5th gear 1K rpm @35 mph, give me a break!). Front driver side visibility is terrible especially when made worse by poor wiper blade coverage. And the wipers are also incredibly noisy. Plastic dip stick, please!

  When my daughter told me she wanted this car for her 16th birthday, I thought "surely you can do better than a Civic". My opinion of the previous Civics was not very high. I researched it and was impressed with what I found, so I was game. Then I test drove it! We bought it that night! I love, love, love this car! It handles well, is easy to drive, has power when you want/need it, it feels good and sounds good! It has standard features you would normally find in a luxury car...radio controls at your fingertips, moon roof, premium sound. I just wish we would have ordered one with the navigation system. Its compactness sometimes makes it hard to "fold" into/out of this car!

  Thats right, this is the absolute best bang for the buck in the world! VERY quick, and perfect for traffic driving; almost no blind spots at all. Ive only had mine for about 9,000 miles now, but Ive enjoyed every mile of it. It also gets GREAT mpg for a "sports" car (38+hwy - 32+city). If you want a car to add performance parts to, this is also your car. I think they sell almost everything you can think of for a Civic. Finding stuff thats in stock on a Civic this new is a little hard though, but Im not complaining...

  First 2500 miles I have averaged 36 mpg with a high of 40.2 on a 500 mile Interstate trip with cruise set at 67 mph. Its quieter than my 2003 Accord V6-less road noise. (I still have the Accord) The flat out acceleration is not there but in normal driving the engine and transmission perform so effortlessly that the car just seems to intuitivly do what you expect. The handling is superb without a harsh ride. This is one great car. I had planned to purchase the Si model but there was a 6 or 7 month delivery wait so I opted for the EX with the idea that Id trade for an Si next year. I was concerned about only 140 hp but Ill keep this one.
