Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Okay For Its Price Range - 2006 Honda Civic

I love and hate this car at the same time. Love the interior/exterior styling of it. Having the Navigation is great. But its no fun to drive. Choppy and hesitant. Dont know if its throttle or transmission related. Post service to address this issue has been in vain. Very unimpressed with Honda service. Feel like Im stuck with a car thats not quite right. Will probably trade the car in this coming year.

  • Exceeds Expectations - 2009 Honda Civic

Have been driving for about two months now, no problems. Dash Interface takes a getting used to, but digital speedometer comes out preferable to old one. Got it for msrp price of an LX-S Auto. Design is quite unique, but in good taste. Leather enhances driving experience substantially. Plenty of space and excellent AC, I live in FL. usb-slot + steering wheel audio buttons best feature, a 8gb usb drive provides hours of quality music, no hassle of using aux cable, and no ipod necessary. Getting 30 mpg combined. Overall above average car for someone looking for a fun, unique, fuel efficient vehicle. Plan on driving it for years to come. No seat back problems, Im in good health.

  • Honda Civic Hybrid still evolving - 2004 Honda Civic

Overall, I really like the car but it is a basic, no-frills vehicle. The interior is plastic, not leather, which scratches easily. The wind noise, when the back windows are down on the interstate, is deafening. The best fuel mileage has been 40 mpg (we average about 37 mpg), which is less than the 60 mpg fuel efficiency indicated on the dealer invoice. There is a blind spot with the side mirrors - a safety problem in highway traffic. The dealership indicated the brakes are half worn at 12,000 miles - I dont ride my brakes so not certain if it is due to an audible popping noise. Service department trips have been very time consuming and frustrating.

  • Civic is the Ultimate Value - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

The new Civic is a great value, the car drives and feels like a car that should cost about $25k. Honda has done a superb job with their designing, engineering, and technology improvements. Theres not another car on the market that is anything like it, and that explains why it is the hottest thing out right now. Its no wonder Motortrend voted it Car of the Year. The Civic is just the perfect size car, its great for in town driving but does suprisingly well out on the interstate because of the five speed transmission. On a recent trip, I got 39.8 mpg on the interestate (I had the cruise set at 77mph). In town Im getting about 27mpg. Honda is the best car manufacturer right now by far.

  • Honda Civic - From a Toyota Lover - 2003 Honda Civic

Bought the Brand new Civic on March 26th. Great in gas. Overall handling is good. The car needed wheel alignment in the first week itself. Ride is bumpy.

  • A great little car, comfort, economy, de - 2005 Honda Civic
    By -

Again a great little car, good comfort, great economy, very dependable, a tad too low to ground for my pleasure because it gives the feeling of economy and not something to tell your luxury car owners about though I consider mine very luxurous. You might improve on the lines a little and maybe have a better color selection. Quietness of operation is a great plus also, how did you do that, make it so quiet?

  • So Far, So Good - 2007 Honda Civic
    By -

Bought this new in December of 2006. Love the looks and it is still a blast to drive. I have it in black and it is sharp. Only defects so far is the sunroof rattled and 3rd gear was a little sticky. Dealer fixed both problems, no charge. Interior plastic is a little cheap, it scuffs easily and I dented the door where I rest my elbow. Vehicle stability assist has kicked in a couple of times in the snow and it helped with the traction. For performance, appearance, and sheer fun to drive it cant be beat.

  • 06 CIVIC HYBRID - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

This is a fantastic car! This car has exceeded my expectations. Im currently getting 47 mpg with 60% highway, 20% gridlock, and 20% boulevard stop & go traffic. (I use the instant MPG gage to get best mileage)

  • Great car - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

Great car and value.Engine is a 1.8 liter 4 cylinder,5 spd at.Model is a 2008 EX has sunroof, driving lights all the extras except gps.Engine performance equal to most v-6 motors.Emergency brake lever not in a good location touches knee,Honda needs to relocate next time around.I get approx.36 mpg mostly highway miles, driving 60 mile round trips to and from work. I expect this to improve slightly over time.No mechanical problems and dont expect any.I would recommend the Civic to all without hesitation.
