Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Excellent Car - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

Given that gas mileage, safety and dependability were my primary factors, I believe the 06 Honda is the only car that provides an effective solution for these needs. With 3000 miles, I am averaging 37 mpg, combined city and hilly highway. I have had no problems and am totally satisfied with this car. It is excellent. I garaged a very nice full size 4x4 and have only driven it 1 time in the past 60 days. No desire, or need to drive it any more. I feel safer and save a lot on gas with the Civic!

  • A Fun Car to Drive - 2006 Honda Civic

The Civic hybrid does a superb job of combining style, fuel economy and enough performance to make the car a true joy to drive. Honda deserves kudos for jazzing up the civic for 2006 and making it a superior driving experience to the Prius.

Hx has poor hp. But put about $2000 into the engine and it runs pretty good. I beat old and new mustangs and old z28s in it. The exterior needs the trim painted like the ex or si but for about $150 I had that done. Other than that I love the car.

I love only having to fill my tank once every week and a half to two weeks! It has more power to it than my last Honda!

  • I love this car - 2017 Honda Civic

When I first saw the car it was love at first sight. I like the look of the exterior as well as the look and functionality of the interior. I open for the model with Honda Sensing which is worth the extra money. The only complaint I have is the basic sounds sound system, but I was probably spoiled by my Chevy Sonic which had a rather impressive factory sound system.

  • Limited Slip Differential: My new woman - 2007 Honda Civic

The car is amazing. You can take corners recommended for speeds at no more than 25 MPH at 65, and right when the car is about to jump out of line your VSA kicks in and pulls you back. Snow tires are a must as grip plummets when icy or snowy. 1st and 2nd gears are very snappy and when the VTEC hits it makes the sound of a raging banshee. The bucket seats cradle you and the sound system is extremely nice; much nicer than my fathers TSX and Mothers Ridgeline. The worst thing about the car is the 600 mile "keep it under 4 grand" break in! Its well worth it once you do start hitting the v-tec and the shift indicator is a nice addition. Overall a great car.

  • Battery problems - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

Have been having battery problems. During the winter had problems driving car. Dealership said not using the car a lot and going on short trips would probably do it. At stop lights the car cuts out - I thought it was just me but anyone who has driven the car said the same thing. Drove to New Glasgow 200 km trip - When heading back car wouldnt start - had to call roadside assistance - which I must say are excellent. I have Sirius Satellite in my car - they said that it is a serious drainage on my battery using it. I contacted Sirius on this and they have never heard of this being a problem. My boss has his plugged in all the time and never had a problem.
