Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I commute 150 miles to work everyday so recent gas prices drove me to trade- in my Subaru WRX (an awesome car by the way) for the Hybrid. It was the best decision I ever made. The car handles well, fits my family of four and has reduced my gas bill by over half. I average between 47 to 54 miles per gallon (not sure how Consumer Reports rated only 36 mpg). It is of course a Honda so no complaints about the quality. Best of all, you will feel great about taking the first step to encourage technology that works toward breaking the dependence circle on foreign oil.

This vechicle has great fuel economy and is fun to drive. They have come a long way in adding performance to hybrid vehicles and I am very glad to have this car in my life.

I have about 2000 miles currently with lifetime MPG of approximately 42 Great car, luxury line for Honda Civic, just take a look at the EX and compare. Cost is an issue, but remember that there is currently a $2000 Federal tax rebate and the improved savings on fuel. Also, the state of Maryland does not charge sales tax on low emmisions/alternate fuel vehicles, so I saved about $1000 there as well. I recommend this vehicle to anyone, young or old, as an intelligent and responsible choice - just keep in mind its not a sports car.

We wanted an affordable car that would last and be reliable. This car has been. I personally prefer toyotas, my corolla got better gas mileage and was funner to drive. I dont like the heavy feel that hondas have but some people do. I am tall and dont have a lot of leg room and the seats arent comfortable for me. I was content with it until we had our second child, with two car seats in the back and a stroller in the trunk theres no extra room. Id recommend this car to somebody who just wants a reliable commuter car.

  • I never thought I would like it! - 2007 Honda Civic

I just purchased a 2007 EX 2dr 5spd. All I can say is wow! I went from driving a big V-8 to this, and I am having a blast. This car is well mannered, and very fun to drive. When I test drove it, I was thoroghly surprised. I love the fact that I will be passing gas stations, instead of having to fill up every three days. I commute 24-28 miles a day and this thing has no problem getting up to speed with any of the other traffic around me. This car is very comfortable, and the stereo is great. Now my muscle car can rest in the garage during the week, while I drive this EX.

  • Dont look like a "Mom" car anymore - 2004 Honda Civic

Drives like a gocart, good gas mileage, after tinting and adding Sirius Satellite Radio, replacing entire aftermarket system, plus extras.. (Oh yea the Factory speakers are actually plastic frames.) I now have added rims off of a 2003 EX Civic. Now the car actually almost looks about right.. The original factory hub cap rims had to go... Brakes have a problem when going down a slight incline once in a blue. Almost feels like it wants to lock up, had Honda Tech check out but naturally no show on the problem. Would like to put a better brake system, when these wear out. For the price paid on this car they should at least have disk all the way around on an LX. 16K on a civic is too much.

  • Love it - 2006 Honda Civic

This car has all I need for years of driving satisfaction. Functional, fun and responsive. Only complaints are a few cosmetic details. Paint flaws on front bumper and tip of the hood, fabric not tacked down around seat and inside moon roof, causing the sliding part of the moon roof to have an abrasion and black stain, but warranty will cover that. LOVE the dash design and large easy to read speedometer. One tank of gas goes a LONG way.
