Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  I, like so many others, turned to fuel efficiency once gas prices went decidedly north. I love the looks of the car, comfort, and handling has been a pleasure. I thought the new wave dash would be a distraction but turns out to be a really nice feature. Has nice pick up in the higher rpm range, however sometimes pick up in initial take off can seem sluggish. Im getting about 32-35 mpg driving about 85% highway.

  Comfortable fast quiet roomy, The craftmanship is great. Not a hotrod but can handle great and has enough spunk to be fun. 40mpg, lowest mileage 38

  I leased this car in June of 07 and so far I have had a few minor issues, but overall its a great car. You dont see too many of these on the road and thats a good thing. Engaging VTEC is very addicting.

  After 10 years, I still love this car - 1992 Honda Civic

  I bought my VX new in 1992. 170,000 miles later, and I still love this car. In all those miles, I have had to replace only the distributor and the coil. Fantastic. Handles like a dream and still looks new. Finish and interior wore exceptionally well. I wish they hadnt stopped putting the V- tech engine in the Civic - this was one awesome car.

  This is my 3rd Honda and I am glad to be back. I traded a 2002 Jeep Wrangler in for this SI. What a difference!! Its like going from a prop plane to a fighter jet. Absolutely amazing.

  It has been my first car since freshman year in college(96) and I havent had any major problems with it yet. This is absolutely a great car. No more explanation is necessary.

  i am very pleased with my car. i have owned it for 6 years and there have only been minor mechanical problems with the car. i sometimes forget it is not a race car. my civic has almost a 100,000 miles and it still runs like new.

  This baby just wont give-up. Have never had any major problems whatsoever. Kept up with Hondas regular maintenance schedule which I think has alot to do with it. Interior looks great. Not as peppy as it used to be, but has served us well.

  Amazing car! - 2006 Honda Civic

  I have been driving my new Si for about 2 weeks now and I have to say its quite a ride. Fun for any car connoisseur! If you havent test driven it yet, go do it. If you are going to have fun with this car be ready to shell out some money because refueling this bad boy will cost you. If this is your daily driver I suggest you keep the rpms below 5000.
