Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Great purchase--very impressive!! - 2006 Honda Civic
By drfid - May 22 - 6:53 pmI love this car! I had an Acura TL before this car, and thought Id have to eat humble pie by purchasing an TL. We built a new house further away from work, so it became necessary to downsize and get something more economical. I too, like another owner, have had my car two weeks, and I have yet to require a fill-up. The cars design is great, with a very convenient instrument panel. I obviously have sacrificed power, and the fabulous sound system of my TL, but hey, the stereo is pretty great. I love the MP3 jack for my Ipod (I had to install that aftermarket in the TL). I would recommend the 5 sp manual--makes it very fun to drive. Ive had a lot of people look at my car--they bought too!

Love my new car! - 2007 Honda Civic
By Steve - May 20 - 2:13 amI have only had this car one day but I just took it on a 300 mile trip related to my work and had a blast driving it! For a new car, the fuel economy was very good. On my first fill up (in the teeth of a strong headwind), my MPG was 32. By the second fill up, it had improved to 37 mpg. This is driving at 72 mph on the interstate. The car also handles well and this was especially evident when I had a near accident on my way home. I was able to swerve to avoid contact and the car handled superbly.

Believe the Honda Hype! - 1991 Honda Civic
By SupaDupa - May 20 - 2:00 amThe ad in the paper said, "the most reliable car youll ever own." Well, they couldnt be more right. This thing just will not die! I dont want it too, but really, I change the oil and that is it. The brakes and clutch are original and I just cant believe how much Ive gotten out of this car. Im at 120k and shes still goin stong.

10 years of trouble-free driving - 1992 Honda Civic
By Ken was IL now MI - May 20 - 2:00 amBest car Ive ever owned. Only replaced the typical (tires, battery, brakes, tuneup, timing belt, etc) Needed new CV boots at 140,000. Replaced driveshafts (about $330.00). Used Mobil 1 since 500 miles. Maintains 42 MPG city/highway. Rust is starting to become a concern. Wonder how much longer it will still look acceptable.

By lkernish - May 18 - 2:00 amI love my hybrid, its a great car, I downsized from a larger car and felt insecure at the beginning, but once I drove the car I felt secure in it. I highly recommend this car for its look and for the fuel economy.
