Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Think twice - 2008 Honda Civic

This is my third Honda. I loved the other cars (Accords) and bought the Civic mainly to increase gas mileage due to long commute and high marks for reliability and safety. But, there are several things that are truly annoying. The main problem is the front seats are very uncomfortable. After 45 mins of driving my back was hurting due to the hardness of the seat and the way it pushes in your sides to mold you into the seat. Theres no "give." Another big problem is the side door frame blocking you view while driving and especially while turning. Not being able to see the front of the car (end of the hood) is a big problem in trying to park, turn etc. Maybe you eventually get used to it.

I drive approx. 30,000 - 35,000 miles per year. I purchased the car primarily for the gas mileage.

  • not too bad - 1999 Honda Civic

It is not too bad car even though its noisy, less powerful. I surprised when I sold my civic at a higher price than I thought last month. Thats a good experience. I just bought a 2003 toyota corolla. I really dont know corolla is such a good car before. I strongly suggest you trade your civic with this one if you want to change.

I was absolutely amazed with the quality of my 2008 honda civic ex-l navi! Its fun to drive, it has GREAT fuel economy and its just a well designed vehicle. The navigation with voice commands is so advanced and easy to use! I would recommend this vehicle to ANY and EVERY interested car buyer, and friend of mine! Take a look at it, its reasonably priced and worth every penny!

  • Fun - Practical - Affordable - 2008 Honda Civic

I started looking for a EX sedan but when I saw the EXL coupe with NAV, I knew this was the fun car for me. Ive only had the vehicle for a week and I love it. It drives like a go cart when compared to the F-150 Ive driven for the past 11 years. The Civic looks sporty, has 90 percent of the whistles and bells I enjoy in a vehicle and the price is very acceptable. Ive owned an Accord and a Pilot but the Civic wins hands down in the fun department. Everyone should get one.

Very impressive car. No regrets about buying it. Averaged 36 MPG for the first 1,000 miles consisting of a mix of city / highway driving (30/70). Well built, fun to drive and great looking for a compact car. I am 62" and the car is comfortable for me. There is plenty of room. Looking forward to getting 40 MPG on highway trips. I strongly suspect it will be in the 40s once it is broken in and I have a chance to get it out for highway only driving. At 65 MPH, the engine only turns 2,100 RPMs which is incredible for a 1.8 - Liter engine. Also the 140 HP generated is impressive.

  • Unbelievable - 1991 Honda Civic

4 syllables! IN-CRE-DI-BLE!!!! I dont even change the oil like I used to and this little car will not give up! It just keeps going and going. I am kind of tall and on long trips sometimes my foot goes to sleep but that is a small problem. Pickup is horrible escpecially with AC on. But what can you expect from an 11 year old 4 banger... HA!

This performs well and has good interior & exterior styling & solid build quality. My wife had to have it and it has been an outstanding purchase. We purchased the 7 year 120,000 extended warranty for $1200 and probably wont need it. Excellent MPG and reliable. I have used Amsoil 0- 20 SYN oil and the mileage has been excellent. Fun to drive and will keep this one for a long time. 23000 miles with no problems.
