Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

The 2006 Civic is an amazing technological and automotive achievement; No wonder it was voted Car of the Year. Drive one and youll see for yourself.

  • Zippy and Frugal - give it a shot. - 2003 Honda Civic

Its a hybrid car that can easily get over 40mpg in real world driving. I can get 44+ depending on how well I drive. You need to anticipate the road ahead to maximize the mileage. Its exponential - the more good things you do, the better your mileage gets. If you get in a tough spot - limited access on ramps or other tight merging situations, just drop the shifter into s and floor it. The electric assist kicks in and you take off. It just seems slow because it never shifts - CVTs have no set gears. Its always smooth. And in stop-and-go, the engine will shut off when the car stop, so you waste less gas.

  • Excellent Quality for the Money - 2006 Honda Civic

A lot of car for the money, very nice body lines, Total redesign of exterior and interior is nice but could be improved in the seating design with a wider bucket seat, should also come with tinted windows from factory to avoid cheap window tint film installations. Stay away from the Bass Speaker Option it is way over priced and very poor sound quality. Stereo system is weak.

This car has been with me since I was able to drive a car (7 years). I have never had to have this car repaired for anything other than wear & tear, or for damaged I have caused myself. The gas mileage is awesome!! The car is almost 10 years old now, and although the air conditioning went out, it still runs perfectly. This car is so reliable...I would recommend a Civic to anyone!!

  • Great Car, but audio system fails to initialize - 2016 Honda Civic
    By -

I picked up a 2016 Civic Touring about a week ago, and the audio system fails to initialize about half of the times I turn on the car. This means that the radio, navigation voice, and bluetooth phone do not emit sound through the speaker system. The dealer verified that this is an issue with the car, and told me to just keep turning off and on the car until the audio system works (believe it or not), and to check back in a few months to see if there is a fix. This problem shows up only randomly- I should have restarted the car at the dealership a few times to experience the problem. I do hear clicking during adaptive cruise control and the high-pitched turbo. Neither is particularly annoying, but theyre noticeable. Other than that, this is so much better than my last car that I cant really fine-tune the categories above very well. Except for that crazy audio issue.

  • happy hybrid driver - 2003 Honda Civic

Overall Ive been pleased with the Hybrid. Initially, I was disappointed with the MPG, but that improved after about 1000 miles and when I became more aware of my driving habits. How you accelerate and drive makes a big difference. I went from barely getting 40 mpg to getting 42/43 in the streets and 47 on the highway. I paid just under $20,000 for mine.

This car is both an amazing everyday driving car for the working person with great gas mileage or if you want to hook it up. Its Japanese snap on models at their best. They are very easy to work on yourself because every piecce on the car just snaps off. They are very fast stock and easy to modify. A fun car to drive and just the name Honda tells you that it will run forever. I bought this car and i found that it had absolutly no oil in the engine what soever. Most any other car would have seized by then but Honda engines just keep rolling. Theres just no better

  • Great choice for my first car - 1996 Honda Civic
    By -

I bought my car almost four years ago with approximately 26,000 mileage on it and I dont regret my choice. This is my first car and I have to admit I had reservations about buying a used car....with all those "lemons" out there, but my honda has made my experience of owning my first car a good one so far. Hasnt let me down especially in the winter when I really need it.My next "new" car will definately be another honda.

  • Great Car, Great Mileage - 2005 Honda Civic
    By -

This is a great car! I love the CD player and the sunroof (never had either before). Some say it doesnt have enough power, but I disagree. Although I have to rev it a little higher than my VW Golf , it handles freeway onramps and the hills around my house just fine. Mileage is incredible (Im getting about 33 mpg combined even with the air- conditioning on). Id recommend this car to anyone looking for a solid value in a car.
