Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  Honda Reliability is a joke - 2001 Honda Civic

  I purchased a new Civic lx 4 door 5 spd in March 2001. The problem I am having is the car wont idle after it warms up. If you come to a stop & put the clutch in it dies a large percent of the time. I returned it to the dealer they tell me it is a computer program problem and it will be 3 months before they can fix it with a new program. I have talked to Honda Motor Co they are not at all helpfull. I told them that the car is dangerous to drive. I had never owned a Honda prior to this car, I will never own one again.

  I recently bought the 2008 Honda civic sedan LX and i love it. I have bought a lot of cars and this one has to be my favorite. I drove the accord it was great but i was just liking the civic more. The a/c isnt too great as everyone else says but i like to ride with the windows down anyway. The radio works really good. It has some get up and go when its needed but definitely not the si. Other than the a/c the car is great!

  High Class Car for Entry Level Price - 2006 Honda Civic

  This car cost the same amount of money as the `01 Civic LX it replaced. Its a much improved and upgraded car. Many of its features--i.e. anti-lock brakes, theft alarm, etc.--were only on the EX in the earlier generation. Any less- expensive-to-buy current car comes with fuel efficiency or depreciation draw- backs that make the cost of ownership more. I am amazed that this refined, good-performing car is the cheapest.

  Great car. Went from the luxury 07 Nissan Maxima to this Honda. Great choice. Gas mileage is awesome. Has all the toys (voice nav, bluetooth, XM). Cant beat that.

  this is the best car anyone can ever drive! its small... fast... fun to drive... its very spacious for a small car, so anything and anyone can fit in there.

  This is my third car from the Honda/Acura family, and this is by far the best. The interior was so well thought out and is good quality as well. I love all the features that come standard with the EX model that you would have to pay extra for with other cars! It is so much fun to drive, I dont mind going on long trips anymore! :)

  The Civic is FUN! - 2007 Honda Civic

  I traded my ideal vehicle, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, due to rising gas prices and mileage on the vehicle. This is my first Honda and my first brand new car purchase. I test drove a lot of subcompact cars before deciding on the Civic. All the others gave me the feeling that I was giving up a quality vehicle for a lesser one. I didnt feel that with the Civic. I commute close to 2 hours round trip 6 days a week. My gas bill has been literally cut in half with this car. Its fun to drive, sporty, and solidly built. I like the 5-speed automatic transmission as it adds to the driving experience. The ride is comfortable, too. Overall, its a great value!

  Great car i love it very fun to drive. The radio is not to hot.takes turns like no other pretty quick but could be faster. the most comfertable car to sit in. the drive can be a bit bumpy but if your buying this car your not buying it to be a luxruy car. its deffinitly a nice little sports car

  I bought my little Honda almost exactly a year ago and I was very impressed, both with its performance and the rock solid build quality. The owner before me installed a newer stronger motor before they traded it into the dealership. I still have the stock 4 spd manual and the car can give MANY cars a BIG surprise. I have showed many cars with V8s and Powerful V6s what these Hondas are truly made of. The build quality is flawless and I trust that my Honda will never leave me stranded.
