Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I love the car. What can you say about a car that can fit 6 people, or a water heater, or 1/2 a cord of firewood and get 35+ mpg on the highway ? I have owned the car since new and expect the car to last another 10 years plus. I have done all the maintenance to the car and the car is super reliable. I got 192 K on the original clutch ! The engine does not burn any oil and still has plenty of power @ 231,000 miles !

  • Nice little work car! - 2007 Honda Civic

I originally went to the dealership to buy an EX model with the navigation option but as soon as I saw the Si, I had to drive it. I got reeled in by the sound of the exhaust which is mellow but strong and not "boy racerish". The 6 speed is silky smooth. The car is not fast by any stretch of the imagination. I have had cars that made 350hp with plenty of torque and this isn’t one of them. I was never under the assumption that I was buying anything more than a Civic to use as my primary work vehicle. It is a nice, sporty looking, decent performing compact sedan but you dont notice the performance until you get above 6000 rpms. That is where the little 2.0L really shines.

  • A Blast to Drive - 2008 Honda Civic

For the money this is hands down the best car I could have chose. Everyone I have drove in this car has been impressed with its get up and go as well as its handling. No one can believe that it is a Civic. I wanted something that was economical but sporty. Originally I was going to purchase the coupe but after seeing the sedan I had to choose it. The sedan does not lose any performance to the coupe yet makes it easier to get things in and out of the back seat. I am more than pleased with my choice.

  • Better than expected - 2008 Honda Civic

We bought the hybrid civic new in 12/07. After 6500 miles I am more impressed than the day I bought it. My best MPG is to date is 58.5! Thats 600.7 miles when I filled up I could only fit 10.26 gallons in the tank. I have twice averaged 56 MPG and easily can do 50-53 MPG. It is all in how you drive these cars, I spend a lot of time keeping momentum and if you are at speeds less than 45 mph you can very lightly press the throttle pedal and run only on the electric motor. I love this car! Great fuel mileage and Honda build quality.

  • Is it a lemon - 2006 Honda Civic

I am getting about 27/31 on the fuel economy, the spring on the seat belt retract device causes the seat belt to fly into the door panel cause small marks. The drivers door does not close unless it is slammed. the body panels on the drivers side dont line up like they should. Is this because it was built in america i wonder. The passenger airbag light comes on half the time. When the brake is applied and you hit a bump or going over rough terrain the brake pedal feels really wear, like something broke off or is loose. I think getting the air deflector for the sunroof is a must.

Great car! The dash is a little much but you get used to it. I love the exterior design and smooth handling. Definitely worth the money, not to mention to huge savings at the pump.

  • Awesome Car. - 1995 Honda Civic

I am the owner of a modded 95 D16z6 SOHC coupe. Alls I have to say is the D series motors that come Stock in this car can be really fast. There are many bolt-ons and also Turbo and Superchargers that they make for this car. I would advise looking into that.

  • Good value - 2002 Honda Civic

unacceptable suspension, especially the rear one. Not so comfortable front seats. Too tall. Looks unbalanced. In term of value, few challengers could come close. But you give up quite a lot of comfort for this value.
