Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Great Car - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

I had done a ton of research before buying my 2006 civic, and I am so glad I purchased this car. I actually had to fly 850 miles to get it! I live in AZ and these cars are hard to find. I love the Nav system. This is the best nav system I have ever used. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra bucks for the Nav. I am 64" and I have plenty of room in this car. I love the bi-level display. The engineers at Honda are genius! Also, for those who like to detail their cars, this is one of the easiest cars I have ever hand waxed and polished due to the smooth design.

  • Pretty nice RIDE!!! - 2016 Honda Civic

I purchased my 2 door Coupe July 23, 2016 and its been great ever since! I love the interior and the exterior seem like a luxury coupe. I was so excited to test drive, I totally forgot to see if it had a CD player, so after signing all the papers and driving it off the lot, I realized it didnt have one! I still love and enjoy it though and my ONLY COMPLAINT is this third brake light always falling down UGH!!! Ive had it replaced but the dealership says its a design flaw and I called Honda and they said they are working on a remedy. The car isnt the most quiet ride but smooth enough..... Ill give it 4 STARS!!

If you are reading this review you already realize the quality and value of this vehicle. I dont want to beat a dead horse, but your not going to find a better car for the price. You cant go wrong with great relability, safety, gas mileage, resale value, etc. Drive it, I did, and you see what I have now. The transmission, ride, and engine are smooth as silk. Great Car. No hassle buying, wonderful experience. I recommend Rob M. from Herritage in Westminster, MD. Great laid back guy. Third Honda (Oddessey and Civic Si Hatchback) from the dealership.

  • A great car - 2007 Honda Civic

Purchased 2007 civic 6 weeks and 2500 miles ago. A fun car to drive. Got rid of a 2001 suburu outback. I was convinced to buy the civic when we took my daughters 2006 civic on an eight hour trip to oregon with a total of four adults. We had plenty of room for our baggage including snow boards on a roof rack on top. My fuel economy is running about 32 mpg with 50/50 city/hwy. The only problem to date is the transmission has been downshifting at some odd times not sure why, I need to take into the dealer. I researched toyota, mazada and scion - when you upgrade all the other cars to meet the standard features the honda won.

  • Upgrade from 97 DX - 2012 Honda Civic

This is my second Honda Civic. I bought the first one in 96 which is now going to go to my son (he was in kindergarten when I bought it and is now 2nd year University student). I have had the car for only three days. So I cannot attest to its reliability and other long term performance.

  • My 2007 Civic - 2007 Honda Civic

While the car is a little weaker in power than what I would like, the gas savings are enough to make it up. I drive mostly city and average about 30 MPG. The car has been a pleasure to own and given me no problems.

  • Life with my Civic Honda - 2007 Honda Civic

I takes a while to get used to this gem of a vehicle. The electric motor acts like a turbo to assist the gas motor. Ive had a few rattles and a window motor recall, but Ive been thrilled with the 36,000 miles Ive put on it thus far. Handling is superb. I can spin the tires, but I wish I could get a larger electric motor as an option to help with the 1800 ft. peak I drive over twice daily on my 45 mile commute. Mileage is controversial with this car; people report all kinds. For me, if I dont watch what Im doing, I get a combined 42 mpg (over the last 2000 miles). If I pay attention, and keep the revs below 2500, I can easily get low 50s mpg. If I draft a semi, I can get over 70!

  • Great Value may be the last car I ever buy! - 2008 Honda Civic

At 137,000 miles 37,000 miles over the warranty. Honda pay 50% of my repair charges on a brand new catalytic converter and a brand new Hybrid battery. Unbelievable saving me over $2,300. Nick

  • Best car for the money - 2004 Honda Civic

This is the 3rd Honda we have purchased in two years. All three have proven to be outstanding vechicles. I highly recommend them.

This car is fun to drive and in spite of it being a 4 cylinder car with low HP it feels like a higher powered car. Its swift and very responsive.
