Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

The Hybrid is a terrific car. Its quiet, rides well and handles nimbly. I traded a Volvo 960 for this car and am very satisfied with its power and comfort under all road conditions. It is extremely well designed and engineered. Take it for a test drive and see for yourself.(The Prius is crude and clunky compared to the Civic.)I can cruise all day at highway speeds in comfort.

Got this one for the wife, who puts about 2000 miles/month on it. I liked it so much I got one too, but manual. Traded an 04 350Z so I could drive all year in Idaho. The stick version feels quite a bit quicker than the auto. A friend and I both have both trannys. The EPA lies, the manual gets 2-3 mpg more (30/35 vs 32/37) if it matters. Drove the Si w/ intent to buy it but this wonderful engine isnt special til over 6 grand up to 8500 rpm. This is not useful unless youre a wannabe racer. Id like the power in the midrange like my Z. So the Si is a great handling car with nothing to offer mature drivers.

I got this car in 08 with 120k on it. Its now at 180k and its still running without having done any major work on it. Just oil changes, a few batteries, and a new set of tires. Every year I spray the metal parts down with lube, and so far, Ive had some issues with the axle rusting, the muffler completely rusted off, and someone was able to use a crowbar to just pry off my passenger door handle to get into my car. Overall, its been a good first car, but Im excited to upgrade to a new Civic.

i love my little civic. it has performed wonderfully and has more power than i expected. i shopped around A LOT for mine and, like others, had the best experience from the internet division of my local dealer. not only was i able to avoid dealer expensive (and unnecessary) dealer add-ons, but i got a great price (below dealer invoice) without haggling.

This is an extremely reliable car. I bought mine new and put 268K on it before encountering the 1st major problem, transmission failure. It is a very underpowered car, gas mileage is excellent, comfort is average. Overall it is a good commuter car, or a 1st car for a teen.

Excellent powertrain design. Honda engines are classy. At 60mph tach reading only 1900rpm! Best 4cyl eng around. This car is designed around aerodynamics. Even the underbody has several panels for aero drag reduction. Windshield rake is extreme, but effective. Honda knows aero drag reduction calls for radical styling, but I like it. Noticing alot of people looking twice at this car. I love the digital speedo up high at base of windshield, so easy to track your velocity w/o taking your eyes off road, very HUD-like. Tilt/telescope str whl & racheting driver seat great for adj to differing driver sizes. Like location of park brake lever away from console. Road noise low, some tire noise only.
