Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

This 2001 Civic Si (Canada) was built on a Friday of a long weekend! I have owned 3 other Hondas/Acuras and they have all been great and reliable cars. It makes a different noise every day. The worst is a popping, crackling noise when you turn right, the interior fan changes speed at its own will, the wind noise from the doors is brutal. It blows around on the highway, and does not drive straight. It has been in 7x in 3 months for warranty work, and 2 dealers (the first couldnt figure it out). Im going to sell it, I found a solid 98 5spd EX Accord that drives a lot better. I think this car was built on Friday of a long weekend!

We orignally were purchasing an 05 Civic, but went shopping in September and they ran out. When looking at the 06, there were so many more safety features standard. Safety and Mileage were our main considerations when deciding to purchase. During the test drive, we fell in love. The drive is smooth and responsive. You want to rev up the engine and GO! The new body and interior design just made it that much easier to say YES to the car. Our best mileage so far is around 35 MPG on the highway, but the car is only a month old. City driving seems to run only 25 MPG. No regrets. We will buy another Civic if this trend keeps up.

  • Great, but could be better... - 2006 Honda Civic

Fun to drive manual - after break-in of touchy clutch. Cool looking, and very spacious interior. Very well-designed seats. Just took multi-state trip & can say this is the most comfortable seat Ive sat in for a bad back... very firm and well-bolstered. Attractive interior. Stereo initially sounded horrible, but got better after a few hours break-in... still nothing to write home about. A let-down in gas mileage, esp if you take it over 65 or so - but my last car was a VW TDI, so Im spoiled. (I average low 30s in mixed, very conservative driving).

The ride is very smoothe and quite. I purchased the EX two door coupe and it definitely is a fast ride. Would recommend it to everyone! Excellent

  • right choice - 2006 Honda Civic

On my first test drive I thought the two tier instrument display was too futuristic and I felt somewhat intimidated. After 1 week and driving other contenders in the civic class, I took my second test drive and was totally captivated by the interior and exterior design. To date my driving experience has been quite satisfying. both with interior comfort and controls and handling response. I know I made the right choice.

  • what a worry-free fun drive - 1992 Honda Civic

Had this car since new in 1992. 160,000 miles later, I still cant part with it. Trade in/resale is about 500 bucks but worth so much more! Husband threatening to haul it away - says it is time. Ive had to replace the cheap exhaust 2x and rust above rear wheels is a problem. People still love the hatchback folding down and I fit a large dresser in there one time - plus can fit 5 bales of straw in there at a time! Handling around corners is superb!

  • Cant go wrong with a Civic - 2007 Honda Civic

Got this car after my 07 Camry got totaled. Like the title of my review says, you really cant go wrong Civic if you are looking for a well built affordable coupe or sedan. Im 26 and exterior looks matter a lot to me. Civic Coupe LX in nighthawk black looks really sharp, and I got whole bunch of compliments on the looks after I changed the factory wheels with aftermarket alloys. The coupe is fun to drive and is also very comfortable. The interior design is very interesting, and stock stereo system is pretty decent. Healthy 1.8 L engine gives you very good fuel economy without compromising performance. You are not going to get bored with this car for awhile(coupe, not sure about sedan)

After having researched and reading reviews on the new Civic Si, I finally made the purchase. From the moment I took it off the lot, I had a beaming grin. This car loves to be driven. I couldnt wait to pass the 500 mile mark to really see what it was made out of. Honda really keeps the driver in mind when they made this car, from the adjustable leather steering wheel, short shifter, seat ergonomics, headrests, and high quality plastics and interior. I was also considering getting the mustang GT, Infiniti G35, and nissan 350Z, obviously sheer torque and horsepower surpass the Si, but as far as performance, reliability, and the joy of driving, the Si is hard to beat

This car was the least expensive car I could find with the driver assisted features I wanted.

  • I love this car! - 2008 Honda Civic

This car has been wonderful. It is very fun to drive and feels sporty. It passes very well on the freeway too. I was hit by a semi truck 3 months after getting it on I-5 on ice. He ripped off the whole right side. I was amazed how well the car handled during the crash and afterwords. I managed on ice w/o chains to not crash into the left wall. I think this is an amazing car and is perfect for family, or a young person like me for safety and sport. It gets fantastic mpg to. I recommend it to anyone.
