Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

03 Honda Civic LX - 2003 Honda Civic
By brohieem - July 6 - 2:00 amLove it. Its exactly what we needed. We live in L.A., and the 5- speed makes the load of driving we do here fun and effortless. Great gas mileage, and lots of fun all around. Great stereo system. Could use a little thicker gauge steel for the body, but the safety ratings make us feel secure. My wife puts 50 miles a day on it back and forth to work, and its just smooth as velvet. Thanks, Honda and thanks, Norm Reeves Honda of Hundington Beach for the great deal. Get the mud guards, the keyless entry/alarm, and an extended warranty, and youre good to go for several years.

Luxurious Hybrid - 2009 Honda Civic
By CarpieDave - July 5 - 8:33 pmI have owned this car for 7 weeks now, and I couldnt be happier with it! Averaging a legitimate 47.55 mpg through 7 fill-ups. I commute 90 miles rnd trip every weekday, and I have yet to regret anything about this car. We have driven it on 2 weekend trips, and the only complaint my wife has raised is that its "smaller than" her Altima. I agree with that statement, but have to say the HCH is much better looking and more comfortable, too. The style of the HCH is head-and-shoulders above the Prius, IMHO. It is a fun, fuel- efficient car. It is NOT a sports car.

Great car - 1997 Honda Civic
By Zipsfb - July 4 - 2:00 amI got rid of my 1998 Mustang for a 1997 Civic HX for mainly fuel economy. Lots of road trips and it hasnt let me down. Easy to work on and parts are cheap for engine upgrades. Also relatively simple to install car audio components into. Overall a little slow, but making it fast is all part of the fun. Great car.

Very well designed - 1996 Honda Civic
By MR - July 2 - 2:00 amNever had a single problem in 2 years. Love the utility, reliability and looks. Plenty of room to haul stuff (if you need to). Not sure why so many people feel they need an SUV.

Excellent car... - 2007 Honda Civic
By budhaboy - July 1 - 9:46 amI bought a CRV earlier this summer, and was blown away by the quality and performance. When my second car spontaneously combusted, I decided to replace it with a civic. My initial motivation was the gas milage (as it was with the CRV), but Ive been truly impressed with the performance (While it isnt as fast as my old turbo beetle, it gets superior gas mileage, and isnt as fear inspiring as the Volvo was when entering the freeway), as well as the ergonomics.

1995 Civic EX - 1995 Honda Civic
By E. Smith - June 30 - 2:00 amThis has been a great car. We bought it with 99K miles on it a couple of years ago, and for the last year Ive driven it daily to work, which is a 140 mile-a-day round trip, and it hasnt broken down once. It now has almost 155K on it and shows no signs of stopping. I commute over some high mountain passes, and its fun to zip around other cars. Definitely go for the manual transmission. All in all a wonderful vehicle.
