Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I just reacently purchsased the car with 162000 mi. It runs perfectly and so far I am geting almost 41 MPG power and performance is good for a compact car, ride is solid and comfortable it dose have some road noise at freeway speed but it is a small econamy car what do you expect.

  • Great car - 1993 Honda Civic

I bought the car with 149,000 miles on it. I was a little worried that it wouldnt run that good with so many miles, since I had never had a Honda before. It ran great, no problems. I owned the car for about 10months before it was stolen (only downside to hondas) and never had to do anything to it. Of course I did do a few things, like cold air intake, springs, rims etc, but nothing needed to be done. Unlike my old buick which had 120,000 miles on it, and needed to have two valves in the engine replaced and a new transmission put on it, in the 1 year I owned it. Hondas are great cars, period.

Just purchased it, ride is smooth and quiet for a little car. More headroom than I expected, interior is def. Honda, i.e. plain, but thats OK. Display is nice with MPG per trip and the IMA battery charging/assist meter is nice. Could use more torque but not sure where it would come from, but considering rising gas prices, it is a great car! Hybrid model includes side airbags and ABS.

  • Never knew driving was so much fun! - 2006 Honda Civic

I have had my Civic Si now for just 4 days/200 miles. So far, I absolutely love it! The driving performance, interior quality, sound system all surpass what I expected. I was lucky to find one in a local dealers inventory (it was the only Si available in a 30 mile radius from Indianapolis).

I just traded my 2003 for a duplicate 2006 adding the Navigation system. I drive 2000 miles a month on the expressway. The 2003 got 55 to 65 mpg driving at 50 mph on cruise control. The new one has just a little bit more room & a little better gas mileage. I just love this car!

  • Great Small Car - 2007 Honda Civic

I owned this car for a little over 2 months and put 7800 miles on it. I had no problems whatsoever and I averaged 38.6 mpg while I owned the car. I drive mostly highway (97 miles round trip to and from work), and found this car to be very comforatble. The manual transmission is the smoothest you will find at this price point. It feels like it should be in a car that costs at least $30,000.

  • Love It. First Impressions - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

Everyone is talking about how great this car is. I agree, overall. But as counterpoint to the glowing reviews, I thought Id give a few negative impressions from my first few days of driving it. First, the parking brake handle digs into my right knee when my foot is off the gas (cruising). Second, I find the speedometer distracting. It is always in your line of vision and I find myself paying a bit too much attention to it at the expense of watching the road. I can hear the gas sloshing around in the tank when I come to a stop (radio off). Radio features are nice, but sound quality is less than I expected, AM especially poor. These are overall, minor flaws in an otherwise GREAT car.

  • Good car for those with shallow pockets - 1992 Honda Civic

I bought this car after wrecking a late model luxury car. Though it has been a great downgrade, the Cvic is a good, reliable car. Its driver friendly, well-built and fun to drive. Performance is the one negative remark. Expect to be the last pulling off a light. On the plus side, Honda performance parts are widely available, if you are looking to increase horsepower. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. 120K and going strong.

  • Amazing Car! - 2003 Honda Civic
    By -

While shopping for my first new car, I drove every compact and mid size under the sun and the Civic was the obvious choice. The Civic was my first foriegn car and Im kicking myself for driving all those American pieces of junk for so many years(except American trucks)! The manual EX is exciting to drive with nice acceleration and seats that hug you like a race car! Combine the performance with a moonroof and a 6 spkr sound system and you have a winner.

This is an excellent car, and a great value. I havent had a SINGLE problem with this car. Granted, I am very good at keeping the regular maintenance schedule.
