Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Great first sporty economic car - 2001 Honda Civic

I am very picky with cars. This was our second car in the US, we had it for 49000 miles, until the last day we loved its look, very reliable, car exterior is a little flimsy can be dented very easily. Very stingy in gas (+). For a supposedly sport car performance is low. Extremely uncomfortable for me 6’2”. Rear seats are almost useless. Suspension is jumpy and uncomfortable. Overall definitely recommended.

  • Good Car but Not Sure about Gas Mileage - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

I got a Honda Civic as my second car, got my first when I was 16 and it was a Sunfire with AMAZING gas mileage but it was old and needed a new car. I liked the Civic for all its features but mostly the gas mileage but after 800 miles and 3 tanks later I am only getting 24.5 miles per gallon and dont understand why. I wanted 29 at least like it said! So Im not happy but wondering if maybe there is a reason and if someone can tell me why I would very much appreciate it! Im just a young girl who thought she did her research well. But other than that its a GREAT car!

  • I cant stop driving this!!! - 1999 Honda Civic

There isnt much I dont like about this car....even though its still stock! It comes with all the options. I have more room in this civic than in my previous two cars(89 camry, 90 camry). The gas mileage is an added bonus. The snappy VTEC engine gives you the power you need in a coupe. You definately get good bang for the buck.

  • Trouble-free - 1999 Honda Civic

Mine is a european 1400cc/90hp version. Yet its quite fun to drive, and can carry 4 adults w/bags. The handling is good, w/ a nice shift (manual). The interior is still as news after 3 years, though the grey color is kinda dull (IMO). I would highly recommend this car, especially used, because of superior quality, reliability and small price. Great car, fun to drive, economical, very reliable

  • Best in its class??? - 2006 Honda Civic
    By -

Honda did a very good job with this new Civic, but their marketing department really went into overdrive. I like a lot of things about the design, and the road noise isnt that bad. Some things however dont add up right. First of all the mileage is way below what they claim. Im getting 29mpg doing 75% highway 25% city driving. Thats without the AC and driving conservatively. The extremely slanted windshield makes for poor visibility on left turns (due to the post).

  • WOW! - 2007 Honda Civic

Just purchased my new Civic hybrid. What a pleasure to drive! It has been years since I have owned a car that was so much fun to drive and I spent quite a bit more for it. This car is a Hybrid when you need it (around town) but a sport car when you need to corner or pass with speed. The interior design is just plain fun It is also great to be doing something good for the environment and my pocketbook. Overall after the tax credit, this car is as good a buy as any other Honda. What a treat! Dont know what there is to shy away from. I am more that pleased to have decided to make a statement and go green!

  • This Thing Rocks!!!! - 2006 Honda Civic

After having driven many Hondas in my day, this little number is pretty tuff. This isnt the Civic it used to be by any stretch. Sporty ride plenty of head and legroom I am 63" so that matters. Comfortable seats, all the knobs and buttons feel high end. It just a really nice car and at its price point UNBEATABLE.

  • Better than a hybrid? - 2004 Honda Civic
    By -

Typical Honda build; tight, all controls feel right, smooth and quiet engine, snappy handling and ride. Not a sports car, but very fun to drive nonetheless. Much better power at altitude than the hybrid, particularly on extended grades. Has all the features you really need and none of the silly fluff you dont. Five speed is fun and shifts great. Highly recommended if youre thinking of a 2- door Civic, no sacrifices and amazing mileage. Why do people need more car than this??
