Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

After so many cars that were fine in what they did I gave myself a treat and put all the fun back into the driving experience! Not since I was first licensed have I had such a silly grin when Im behind the wheel driving for driving sake, not just to ferry kids arround!

  • Wheres the gas mileage? - 2006 Honda Civic

I live in the city of Chicago and I am only capable of getting 23-24 mpg. Where is this 30 that they keep advertising. I mean it has been very consistent at 23 or 24 mpg. Im claiming false advertising! The stereo in the LX sounds pretty bad and I will likely add some new speakers to get to help improve the sound quality.

Its a great car overall, its a standard model for those who are just in need of a very reliable car. Horsepower/ throttle arent the greatest but it does save lots of gas. When I first bought it I was a little nervous because my car would shake a lot white shifting into gear TWO. I told me dealership about it and they said it was nothing because the cars sit there without being driven. A month later the shaking has gone away & its been good so far.

Bought our 2007 LX automatic sedan in January, and have been happy with it. The car has been getting on average 27 mpg, and that is mostly rural hilly driving, with some city mixed in. I expect (and hope) it will get better with time, and once we are done with winter. I like the speedometer/fuel/temp gauge location much more than I thought I would. The engine and transmission work well together, but I wish it had a manual setting, or one more selection, such as D4. Car is well built, handles well, and has a nice feature content for the price. I do wish it had about 1 more inch of seat travel, as I am 6 1" and also bump my knee on the brake lever like some have mentioned.

I bought this car just to get me through college thinking I would get something better once I got a decent job. I have said decent job but the car is hard to give up. I have been in 2 accidents with it both I was fine after and the car was running. Its never had any major repairs aside from a radiator after one accident. Fun to drive easy to upgrade. Compared to the 2002 corolla and 2006 acura RL I drove before the Civic by far was the best vehicle

Ive just rolled 175K on mine & this thing has been bulletproof. Its still on the original clutch - can you believe that? This thing is a fuel sipper, I think Im still getting around 35MPG on the hwy. Super cheap mode of transport, super reliable, everything Ive ever wanted in a car. Mine doesnt even have A/C....power nothing....guess what, nothing broken on the car yet. Chris

  • for young couples who wants to save mone - 2008 Honda Civic

We bought our Honda Civic on April 2008. Since that time I am trying to calculate the miles on the each tank. But I never got more than 23 miles average MPG with the mixed driving in city and highway. I cannot believe that someone gets more than 28 miles MPG. The interior is fine except the place for speedometer. The starting of movement is fine. I can get 40-45 miles per hour when RPM under 1700. The exterior is really nice. The car is wonderful for a small family. I could get 32 miles MPG just on highway, but I never got 38 miles MPG on highway, it is unrealistic. Even I have a hard foot, I think that I could get more MPG than I have now. I made 7600 miles and generally OK with the Civic.
