Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Well, seeing as this is my first car, I would like to point out that it has no competition. I love it. Ive had it for 6 months now, and have enjoyed every minute of owning it. I have to point out that power is lacking a bit. Even when revving at 5ooo rpm, the car barely feels like its moving when me and my friends are in it.The car has an endearing character that says to me, "Lets go drive!" Also, the interior is great. I love all of the standard features. However, the tires dont work well at all in the rain, and the stereo sucks. Oh well, I guess I cant have it all. Anyway, it truly is a great car.

  • 3rd Civic Si, and our 15th Honda since 1985! - 2017 Honda Civic

This is the latest Civic Si, Ive owned a 1985, and a 2002. I traded in my 2016 Accord coupe for this. So happy I did! Amazing value, nice bells and whistles, but its still a civic. In the 2600+ miles Ive gone, Im getting 36-38mpg average, and thats in town! Ive averaged 40mpg over long highway drives (doing 55-65mph). Not too powerful, but Sporty and Very Fun to drive! Yes its a little smaller than the Accord, but it makes up for it in light, sporty driving with great gas mileage!

  • True Cost of Ownership - 2008 Honda Civic
    By -

Honda Civic 2008 EX 4 door sedan - Bought on 04/30/2008. Right now has 21800 miles on it. As of today spent $857. Brakes changed on 21000 miles and cost me $507. The tires are fine and I have a plan to drive until 37000 miles at least. No mechanic failure as of today. Drove from DC to NH and GOT 41 MPG. I was surprised really. The real cost of ownership is higher than Edmunds wrote. Lets see: At 18500 miles air filter changed=$230; Plus regular oil&oil filter changes as of today I spent $120; Plus brakes (4 brakes, Plus rotor cleaning) changed at 21000 miles and it cost me $507. Take a look for the numbers if you know how to count and save your money. Honda is practical and economy car.

for those who dont care about interior options this is it BUT they are all basic in fact theres a lot of things missing on this car rear cup holder, charging port, etc seats are a lot worst then the impala i used to drive i mean why not power seats?? why not LED headlight REMOTE START! why not a bigger touch screen radio? why stupid hub caps on a 20grand car!!! on this HONDA civic lx gone more RETRO the FUTURE like. if you decide to lease and want to buy it at the end and dont mind customizing it then its good to go other wise choose the better ACCORDS!

This car handles very well and is fun to drive. I love listening to the sound of silence when it goes into auto-stop mode. Rapid acceleration in drive was only fair. Finish is typical Honda, excellent. So far I would buy it again.

The Honda Civic is a great economy car. The gas mileage is very good with prices being so high. The car handles very well but it is a little on the low end for acceleration. A great thing about this car is that the oil only needs to be changed every 10,000 miles. Another benefit comes when you sell the car, the Civics tend to have a really good resale value.
