Overview & Reviews
In typical Honda fashion, the Civic receives a number of minor changes this year in order to keep it fresh. For the coupe and sedan, there's new exterior styling, including restyling for the front and rear bumpers, hood, headlights and grille. Inside, the audio speakers have been upgraded, extra sound deadening material has been added and floor mats are now standard in the LX and EX. The LX trim has slightly bigger wheels this year (15 inches) and standard keyless entry. A new value package contains air conditioning, a CD player and a new center console. For the Si hatchback, there are new headlight and taillight designs, larger 16-inch wheels and flashier interior trim. Like the regular sedan, the Civic Hybrid has updated styling, standard floor mats and improved speakers. It also has a new interior console with an armrest, adjustable rear headrests and a manual driver-seat height adjuster. Finally, all 2004 Honda Civic sedans and coupes have a new seatbelt reminder system.
- Fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engines, roomy interior, reputation for durability and quality, impressive crash test scores.
- Top-of-the-line models are pricey, antilock brakes not available on DX or LX.

In Love with my Civic - 2004 Honda Civic
By elegantandblonde - May 14 - 10:00 amAfter owning countless automobiles,I am back on track with a Honda. I have owned an Acura Integra in the past and loved it. I prefer a small vehicle, but this one is sporty and fun...stylish especially in Rallye red. I highly recommend this vehicle, its outside demeanor doesnt do it justice. It is fun to drive, has lots of pep,is reliable and fills the bill.

A/C problems - 2004 Honda Civic
By BRobins - May 8 - 10:00 amThis car would be great for a climate that never reaches over 100 degrees! Anything over that the a/c is terrible. Everytime you accelerate no matter if you mash the throttle or have an egg between your foot this vehicle blows hot air at you, which translate to the fact that in stop and go traffic the car never even comes close to getting comfortable inside the vehicle. According to my selling dealership this is a normal condition and nothing can be done about it. My recomendation is not to purchase this vehicle at all untill they have a fix for thier "normal" problem. Also the dealership also told me that all of the honda vehicles do this so beware!!

Why spend more? - 2004 Honda Civic
By LexLowkey - April 11 - 2:00 amIf I had known the Civic was this good, I might not have bought my last car, an Accord V6 coupe. The Civic isnt as much car as the Accord, but its about $8,000 cheaper. Its also easier & more fun to drive in the city and much cheaper to operate - the Accord got 14 mpg in city driving, the Civic gets about 30.

Houston Hybrid - 2004 Honda Civic
By Houston Hybrid Owner - April 6 - 2:00 amUsing a Chevy Avalance and driving 3000 miles a month had me on a first name basis with the gas attendant. When my gas bill hit over $400.00 a month I knew I had to do something. I started by looking at the Toyota Prius but found the local dealers a challenge to deal with. Not only was the wait for a Prius about 6 months they were not willing to negotiate price or configuration of the vehicles options. That led me to the Honda Civic Hybrid. It is easier to drive than the complicated Prius. It was less expensive to buy and in stock. Its an easy car to own. It has plenty of acceleration for big city driving.Chevron misses me.

great little car - 2004 Honda Civic
By spdracr - March 26 - 10:00 amim a high school student who has to get around from home to school and back, as well as to friends houses and places for parties - and needed an efficient, roomy yet compact car. the civic hybrid stood out and my dad bought it for me. at first i complained to him about the seemingly lack of power because of miniscule 93 hp it had, but now after driving it for a week, i take that back. i dont speed or drive a car like im trying to race it, so the civic hybrid is great for me. plus i traverse many hills on 280 and 92 here in california, and its great for the mileage.

couple of flaws - 2004 Honda Civic
By spencer52 - February 23 - 2:00 amI love the car and while it does get great fuel mileage, the gas tank is too small. I drive just over 80 miles a day and have to buy gas every thrre days. The tank filler tube is bent in such a way as to make it difficult the get the fuel nozzel all the way in. Filling must be done slowly. I would like to have a radio with a volume that increases as the speed of the car increases. The engine is a bit noisey.

The Future Is Here! - 2004 Honda Civic
By The Commuter - February 18 - 10:00 amI commute 150 miles to work everyday so recent gas prices drove me to trade- in my Subaru WRX (an awesome car by the way) for the Hybrid. It was the best decision I ever made. The car handles well, fits my family of four and has reduced my gas bill by over half. I average between 47 to 54 miles per gallon (not sure how Consumer Reports rated only 36 mpg). It is of course a Honda so no complaints about the quality. Best of all, you will feel great about taking the first step to encourage technology that works toward breaking the dependence circle on foreign oil.
