Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I spend a lot of time in my car. City, highway, residential, road trips, rain, snow, sun (duh), heavy traffic and late night when the roads are empty. Sometimes all in the same day. Ill keep it succinct: -The car handles all of these conditions amazingly well. -It gets incredible gas mileage in spite of what I put it through. -Its comfortable (although front seat positioning leaves something to be desired). -Im still relatively low miles, so reliability hasnt been a factor, but no real problems to report. -Android Auto is working great for me (with a Nexus 5X and a Nexus 6). -The engine is sublime. Docile, but not strained, and a beast when you need it. Maybe a bit rumbly, but I hear all direct-injection engines are like that. -CVTs will always be a little wonky by nature, but the benefits outweigh.

I like the gas mileage, although I wonder if I shouldnt have purchased a hybrid since the gas prices are soaring. The car has an appealing design and its comfortable and dependable.

  • Certified PreOwned YEAR 2002 - 2004 Honda Civic

I bought this car in June of 2004. It was a 2002 Honda Certified Preowned Civic EX. I love this car. It is reliable and sturdy. The engine is a little loud, but what can you expect. I had a few problems when I got it- minor. The dealership paid for it and gave me a rental car. Things like the light burnt out, the battery died etc.. Just maintanace issues. Again, like I said it was paid for- and I was given a rental car for 100% FREE! If I had a chois to buy this car over again - I would say YES, with out hesitation. My previous car was a 93 Toyota Camry. I had to get use to the smaller size, however the quality and reliability I did not have to comprimise

  • Never buy gas again! - 2005 Honda Civic

I am extremely satisfied with this car. In California, I can drive in the carpool lanes by myself and park at parking meters for free. The single greatest feature of this car is home refueling. With the Phill compressor in my garage, I never have to go to the gas station again. Its also the lowest emission internal combustion engine ever made. Its very good for the environment and easy on your wallet too.

  • Build Quality Unsatisfactory - 2006 Honda Civic

I purchased the car earlier this month. I noticed an oil leak a few days ago. The car is leaking oil from the main seal and the oil filter. Also, the passenger restraint light stayed on this morning until I turned the car off and started it again. I have taken the car to a Honda dealer in an effort to correct these problems. Therefore, I am very concerned regarding the build quality and reliability of this car.

  • Best value for money - 1990 Honda Civic

Purchased the car 6 1/2 years ago hoping it would last 2 or 3 years. The thing is amazing--it does what it was designed to do. Provides reliable, economic transportation and offers more comfort than expected. This one has standard transmission adding to the feel of control over ones driving. Great in our Colorado winters though I had to change to tires with a higher profile than stock. Weve newer cars but this is my wifes favorite.

  • Never considered a Honda but love this 1 - 2016 Honda Civic

We were looking at other cars like the Focus, Fusion and anything other then a Honda. My wife and I saw this 2016 Civic EX-T and checked it out then took it for spin and went from there. We got a killer deal from the dealer and really love this car. It is peppy, shifts smooth and the navigation system is awesome. Also the sound system is great when you crank it up and the trunk space is tremendous for a small car. The only small issues is the cruise control does not slow the car when going down hills as it speeds up a little and the ride is a bit choppy at times but not a big deal to us as everything else is good to go. So much for getting a Ford.

  • What Took Me So Long? - 2006 Honda Civic

Almost anything you could ask for is standard equipment, styling gets you lots of compliments, and its fun to drive. After owning Nissan, Toyota, Subaru, Ford, Plymouth, and Renault cars I am favorably impressed with the design, fit, finish, and quality of the Honda. I wanted a car that would last a long time, and I think this one will. This car sets a high standard for competitors to meet.

  • Trouble free huh? - 2003 Honda Civic
    By -

I purchased the Civic a year ago and it now has 28,000 miles. It has had quite a few problems, which Hoindas supposedly dont ever have. There was a clicking noise that took 3 dealership visits for them to fix. There is also a noise the enging makes in second gear which the dealer has not fixed after 2 visits. Seats are rather uncomfortable and the ride is loud. Doubt I will buy another Honda again.
