Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Great vehicle. Serves duty as a commuter and a autocross and road race car (not to be confused with motocross or street racing, respectively!). Spot on reliable.

  • I Love This Car! 2007 4dr EX - 2007 Honda Civic

I traded in my 2000 Civic Ex 2dr manual for this one. I love the look, drive, gas mileage and how dependable it is. In the last 7 years that I owned my last one, all I did was routine maintainance and it ran great, no problems. I know this will do the same if not better, why go anywhere else. Plus the resale value. I sold my last one for $7k and it had over 100k miles on it. If youre looking for a fun dependable car that gets great gas mileage and wont break down then buy this one!

My wife and I just purchased our Civic DX-VP yesterday. I had looked at a Toyota Yaris as my commuter car, but was able to buy the Civic for just $25/month more than the subcompact Yaris (comparing 60 month loans), and the Civic is a MUCH better car. The DX-VP does not have power locks, but it does have air conditioning and a good sound system, as well as power windows. This car is all Honda. Great styling, great engine, great historic reliability for the Civic sedans. I expect to be driving this car 15 years from now.

The one complaint I have is the passenger seat is too low! Feels like the passenger is sitting in a hole. Bought a cushion to help a bit. The Sirius antennae cover on the roof is too large--looks like a shark fin! I do like the car and safety features. Expensive car tho!

89 to 91 civic si, are just simply fun. I owned one since 91. No trouble at all, until around 100k miles, i changed the cv joint and alternator. Thats about it. Just last summer, i changed the motor into a B16. 2000 Si motor. Everything fits great. Now i have 160 hp VTEC. 13K miles.

I bought this car used (w/21,000 miles) and paid almost the full retail of what a new 2005 goes for. Nevertheless, Im completely satisfied with this Civic EX Coupe. The color (Satin Silver), the styling (the headlamps, taillamps, alloy wheels, sheetmetal creases on hood and down the sides), the value features for the money (cruise, 6 speaker stereo, ABS, sunroof, keyless entry) and then theres the great gas mileage! Im average around 35mpg in mixed driving. Pickup and power are good for a car that weighs around 2600lbs. This is my second Honda (first was an 86 Accord LX-i hatchback) and hopefully this one will do 200,000 miles plus like my first one!

Well, what can I say kids? Its definitely not an Accord, not in its/my wildest dreams. I drove an Accord EX for 6 years and never thought I liked the car all that much. As a matter of fact, I used to refer to it as the most boring car on the road. What I wouldnt give for an Accord EX now! The Civic EX is a fine car; but after driving a V6, I just cant get used to feeling like Im driving the little engine that keeps telling itself, "I think I can, I think I can," at the slightest incline, during merging on to the highway, or changing lanes. Ive put 5000 miles on my Civic since I bought it 2 months ago. I will not be driving this car 6 years from now like I did my 98 Accord EX.

I traded in my 1998 Chevy Cavalier for a gently used 2004 Civic. My husband is all about Hondas (he currently drives a 2000 Honda Accord) so it wasnt hard to convince him that the Civic would be a safe and reliable purchase. It is easy to handle and is great on gas. I drive the highway a lot and there is minimal road noise inside the passenger compartment.
