Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Not a bad day in this car - 2000 Honda Civic
By Dr. Rob - February 13 - 2:00 amI think the car speaks for itself. 1.6 liter engine that puts out 160 hp. Hard to find another car that does that. Handles with confidence. Very comfortable. Extremely well built and reliable. I have driven this car hard but it seems to have been designed for it. The redline is at 8000 rpm and it makes its max horsepower at 7800.

Best Car I ever owned!! - 2006 Honda Civic
By annamijah - February 12 - 2:10 amFun to drive. Handles extremely well and is excellent in all types of weather. No problems so far and fuel mileage is great. The seat could be a little more comfortable for a taller person but there is plenty off leg room.

Great little car -- 180k and still going - 1995 Honda Civic
By bobanahalf - February 12 - 2:00 amThis car goes and goes. Regular maintanence is all its asked for. I commute 100 miles a day--often in lots of snow--and its never let me down. Especially nice at the fuel pump.

i love my honda - 1994 Honda Civic
By mjbotti - February 11 - 2:00 amIts been the the most inexpensive, reliable, fun to drive car ive ever owned. With 130,000 miles it still runs like it just rolled off the assembly line, and as a plus, on a warm sunny day you cant help but get in ur civic roll down the windows and cruise! My next car WILL be a honda!

No fuel cells yet? Next Best... - 2003 Honda Civic
By faka - February 10 - 2:00 amFun to watch the mpg panels, great to get up to 55 mpg! Feel like youre putting your money where your mouth is, to save gas and lower emissions. Smooth ride, peppy, Honda quality. Very quiet. I have only had Accords before, but this one is fine. Solid feel, smooth transitions. For once, I get a new car and I dont suddenly see them everywhere, unique! But this would be good...

Great little car - 1997 Honda Civic
By freudy - February 10 - 2:00 amIve had my car for 7 years now, and Im just looking to sell it and get a new honda. The only recall this car has ever had was with the floor mats - seriously. I still manage to get 30-34 MPG. Still handles very well, and Im only now starting to hear some rattles - mostly in the drivers door - and that is because ive had issues with my windows. my cousin, and my best friend also have similiar style honda civics and have experienced the same problem - the windows fall off track or get stuck. you can fix it yourself pretty easily, but i had my mechanic do it for $50 and the window works great now. thats my only complaint.

Affordable & Reliable! - 1995 Honda Civic
By tearacy - February 9 - 2:00 amI bought my car brand new in 1995 and 9 years later am still impressed by its reliability. The Civic is the perfect first car to buy: great fuel efficiency, good rear leg room, nice exterior look, interior has held up very well. This is the best deal in its price range and car class.

Dont let the size fool you. - 1998 Honda Civic
By saved by civic - February 9 - 2:00 amI think the best part about my civic is that one rainy day i was joyriding and slid off the side of the road and went driver side door first into a tree at seventy mph. I walked away with only a cut on my lip from the sunroof collapsing on me. The car was totalled but when the insurance money came I went and bought the same car. and it has been great to me. The performance isnt the best but I can fix that.

Brakes dont work - I just crashed it - 2008 Honda Civic
By Edward Mullich - February 8 - 5:23 pmI just bought this car. The only problem is that the brakes dont work. Maybe Honda doesnt see the brake system as something really necessary. It happened with me twice and with my wife three times today. She crashed the car and destroyed the driver door. The car was three days ago in the dealer to be fixed. They said that is a normal problem because is an automatic and it takes 1 or 2 minutes for the brakes to start working. Can you believe? If they dont fix everything I will go to court.
