Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

  • Couldnt let go - 2000 Honda Civic

This is my 3rd Civic over a 12-year period. Ive owned the 91 hatchbacks and 94 EX coupes and this model is by far the best one. I prefer this model over the current hatchback Sis. Ive driven it for 51,500 miles with no problem. I was within a day of selling it when when I bought my IS300, but decided I couldnt let go of it. I suspect my Si will outlast the IS.

  • Good on milage, great on the enviroment - 2007 Honda Civic

I get 41 MPG in the city very consistently. I have gotten as high as 43 MPG on the highway. I suppose you could get 50 MPG if you were going down hill all of the time and didn’t run the A/C. I live in Houston, TX, so that isn’t very practical. I’m happy with the 41 MPG. This car qualifies as an Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emissions vehicle in all 50 states. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency gives the Civic Hybrid a greenhouse gas score of 10 (being the best). The car qualifies for a $1,350 tax credit. The Honda Civic Hybrid was declared the World Green Car for 2006 at the New York International Auto Show.

  • You Cant Go Wrong - 2002 Honda Civic

Ive owned the car since October and got a excellent deal as the 2003 models were coming in. I love the reliability and build quality from Honda. Its fun to drive and it looks great. I went for Honda 5-spoke alloy wheels and the EX really looks sporty. I fell in love with the car after a friend bought a HX model. My EX has been great on gas mileage about 34 mpg. You really cant go wrong with a Civic. The sedans are nice too.

I really enjoy my car. I am a teenager and loved the look of the car. I have been driving it for over 2 years and love it. I like the look so much better than the newer one, and the gas mileage is great. Its a great car.

  • Canadian Si Coupe - USA EX Coupe - 1995 Honda Civic

I just bought this car with about 250,000kms on it and it still runs like a beauty. Came with K&N filter and a could air intake which gives it a bit of a boost on takeoffs and keeps the engine really cool, even though winter does that pretty well too. Trunk came with a bit of a puddle in it around the wheelwell which I was told was because of condensation even though there is a drain plug inside it. Has a lot of pep and thank god I bought this one in standard, its really built for it though the gas tends to stick a bit when releasing the clutch which could be fixed by altering the timing a bit.

  • Bang For the Buck - 2005 Honda Civic

Well I traded my beloved GTI for a civic sedan. Needless to say Ill never buy a VW car again. Too many electrical problems. Vw has one of the worst ratings as far as realiabilty is concern. The civic on the other hand is great car. Simple yet good lookin. the fuel economy is great and the manual tranny is smooth for a compact sedan. All in all it was a good deal. Honda has always been reliable company.

I just picked up the car late on thursday night. I absolutely love it. The 1.7 v-tec has suprisingly good power. Gas mileage is great 34.56 mpg on first tank. Interior is very comfortable expecially with the side bolsters on the seats. Transmission shifts like butter.

  • Excellent commuter vehicle - 2003 Honda Civic

Owned it for last 2 years - no problems. Easy comfy ride for a commuter car. Very fuel-efficient.

  • Still the ONE. - 2008 Honda Civic

With 5,500 miles on this car in a little over 2 months. No complaints. Gas mileage for mixed driving is around 30 MPG. Not too bad. Exclusive HWY driving yields between 37-40 MPG. Even better. Overall a good car and thus far would recommend this model to a friend. Ill write back in a few months with more updates.

  • Not a bad day in this car - 2000 Honda Civic
    By -

I think the car speaks for itself. 1.6 liter engine that puts out 160 hp. Hard to find another car that does that. Handles with confidence. Very comfortable. Extremely well built and reliable. I have driven this car hard but it seems to have been designed for it. The redline is at 8000 rpm and it makes its max horsepower at 7800.
