Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Honda Civic LX - 2005 Honda Civic
By Andrew - February 21 - 2:03 amGreat car! It may only have 115 horses but it is still very peppy. The seats are comfortable but are on the stiffer side. Gets great gas mileage.

An outstanding value - 2006 Honda Civic
By Bob - February 20 - 5:53 pmIf you are looking for a car with great fuel economy, outstanding handling, looks sporty, and is a lot of fun to drive, you cannot beat the Honda Civic Coupe EX ...especially with 5 Speed manual transmission.

American junk should be embarrased - 1992 Honda Civic
By revan04 - February 20 - 2:00 amBought this car at a city acution. Car had body damage and needed substantial work. Since it is only a DX, had the head cleaned up and the intake side ported -Straight piped the exhaust system (no cats)..she dont tell the cops. -Added a cold air intake -Tuner style muffler -Short shifter For around $1500 done and complete I got a very nice ride. Put 20,000 before selling it. Only experienced rust induced troubles (brakes rusted, suspension bushings...) Peppy little car Mine did a 1/4 mile in 17.2 and 0-60 in about 9.9 seconds, not bad for 4 door with 102 hp.

Money well spent! - 1997 Honda Civic
By Steven D.. - February 20 - 2:00 amI have owned 2 new civic. The first civic lasted for 221,000 miles in 10 years. My second civic has 160,000 miles on it in 7 years and does not show any signs of slowing down. They are and were worth more to me than the sticker price I paid for them. Reliability is the best feature of the civic. They are not the fanciest vehicle out there but they cover every base very well for the everyday person or the traveling type.

The silver lining - 1996 Honda Civic
By lsw - February 20 - 2:00 amMy 1998 Chevy Prizm was recently totaled and I found a 1996 Civic EX to replace it. Turns out this car is a vast, vast improvement, and its the silver lining to having a wreck and having to go car shopping on short notice. Even though its two years older than my other car, it runs much better, is tighter, and more comfortable for me (at 64") to drive. Also after looking at some more recent Civics, I like this older body style better - I think theyre getting more generic at time progreses.

Awesome - 2008 Honda Civic
By Rich - February 19 - 7:53 pmI purchased this car 600 miles ago. The ride is a little tight but smooth. It handles great. The seats are a perfect fit. Im 6 and I fit very well in this car. I am a first time buyer, but its the 4th car Ive had. I had an old 93 civic and they changed up a lot on this vehicle. 300 miles to a tank isnt bad.

More fun than I thought - 2002 Honda Civic
By SanFranDan - February 19 - 10:00 amWe wanted an easy to park, easy to drive, easy to maintain, clean, efficient car. The Civic delivered with flying colors. It handles really well on curvy roads, too.

Fun/fuel efficient car - 2004 Honda Civic
By Honda Solo - February 19 - 10:00 amFun car. My third Honda. Comfortable ride and seating even at 62". Transmission is smooth but was a bit of a reach at first compared to other Honda setups. Had a leak in AC that took four visits to find but was treated well. Almost purchased an RSX but glad I didnt. Payed well under invoice using edmunds information.

I love this car! - 2005 Honda Civic
By clb97702 - February 19 - 4:10 amI bought this car last year when local gas prices hit $2.50 per gallon and I had to make 200+ mile trip over the mountains 4-6 a month. The only problem I have ever had in the last year is a nail in the tire. I love this car and I love how easy it is to drive and take care of. This car ROCKS!

honda mixer - 1997 Honda Civic
By j.p. - February 19 - 2:00 amThe only problem I had, was the radio & CD player. The CD player is a 6-CD changer in trunk. The connecting cable becomes loose at the radio & makes the CD player fade in & out. This has been repaired 4 times & is now starting to act up again. The rest of the car has been great.I realy like the fuel economy, it averages 42-HWY. 33-CTY. Also the AC will freeze even the hottest person.
