Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

I found that the Si is a great car overall except for the gas aspect. Overall i enjoy owning/driving this vehicle. It has great pickup and a smooth drive no matter what speed you are at.

I am so glad I bought this car. I have a one-way 53 mile commute everyday. Most of it is on the highway, and this car is doing great. I get 43-46 miles per gallon; more if I dont push it over 70. It is not the most comfortable car in the world over longer distances. Other than that, the cockpit feel is pretty cool. I love the jack to hook up my I-pod (Ive listened to a whole bunch of books on tape), and the trunk space fits my golf clubs and thats good enough for me.

My 1997 Civic ex has 124,000 miles on it and the engine stil runs like new ). I never had problems with it, NEVER. Great car.

  • Very pleased with the car - 2007 Honda Civic

I traded in my 97 V6 Accord for this car because of the body style and fuel economy. I commute about 50 miles a day in some gridlock and still get about 33 miles a tank which is about a 33% improvement over the Accord. Interior has a sharp design and the exterior paint is nice as are the 16 inch rims. The dual level display is stylish and functional.

The front struts on this car went out with in 5000 miles. Dealer advise-- "you will be paying for them soon enough your self" A/C system not adequate on a hot day. FM/AM have different sound levels. Oil filter hard to get to. AT transmission down shifts too fast when cruse control is on. Sun roof rattles. Paint job is flakey and weak. Sheet metal dents if you look at it sideways.

  • 2008 Honda Civic EX 4-Dr. 5M - 2008 Honda Civic

I drive an 08 black Civic EX 5M. All in all this vehicle is very fun to drive. I love the shift, very easy compared to my previous manual vehicles. I seriously average between 34-38 mpg per fill up. No joke. I can get average 430-470 miles per tank and its not even a hybrid. Mileage has a lot to do with owners driving. I have tons of fun on side streets with my car, but keep the highway driving around 60, and that shows about 40 mpg on the highway. With my crazy driving on side streets, it averages to 35 mpg usually. Great car for MPG!

If you check these web sites about how much the Civic DR is still worth after some years, youll know what I mean. I havent had any mechanical problems with this car. All I had to do was take it to the dealer for routine maintenance and check ups.

  • im in love - 2007 Honda Civic

i just leased my honda civic, after a couple of months of searching for a car. i had a deposit on a honda fit and was waiting for it to come in, but then decided i didnt want to pay so much money for a car i would drive only on the wknds. i had heard so much about the honda performance and reliability, and i can only say "WOW". i totally love this car. it drives and handles so well, i dont even feel like im driving. ive only had it for a few days, but i am so happy with my decision. id been driving my moms ford contour and i dont think ill ever step foot in it again. the civic LX is a quiet, smooth ride that offers a lot amenities and comforts. i recommend this car to everyone.

  • Well Worth The Money - 2004 Honda Civic

I just purchased this car a week after it was made, and I must say, Im normally a chevy guy, but Im highly ipressed with the Civic. Friend of mine had one and let me drive it, i couldnt believe the way this car moves for only having a 4-cylinder! I was reluctant at first, but after test driving it and dealing with the friendly salesman, I was quite happy with my purchase. They met every demand I had for purchasing the car ($100 over invoice, dashmat, oil changes etc.) Highly recommend for younger drivers, myself being a college student. The automatic transmission is convenient, but saps the power and "fun to drive" factor.

  • Poor Assembly - Lots of Rattling - 2004 Honda Civic
    By -

Lots of rattling noise also found in my family 2003 Accord EX. Unusal vibration and noise (from disengaging the transmission locking mechanism) when changing from Park to Drive/Reverse suspecting weak emergency brake because the car rolls (only happens on a hill, dealers say its normal - 2003 Accord doesnt have this problem). Occasionally unusual engine vibration when starting the engine in the morning. Found puddle of water on all 4 doors side steps after car wash or rain (dealer says its normal). Need to stay between 60-70mph to get 26-28 mpg. Does anyone has the transmission and rattling problem? Please write on your review.
