Overview & Reviews
Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.
The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

As Good as Any Honda - 1997 Honda Civic
By FinalHeven - April 11 - 2:00 amThis car is just what youd expect in a Honda. It gets great gas mileage and plenty of power. There have been some minor annoyances with sounds and accessories, but nothing major. When I drove my car after a very cold night the thermostat broke and caused the car to overheat, but there was no damage besides the broken piece. I had the side panels repaired after someone hit me in a parking lot and now it looks better than it did before it was hit, though the doors creak a little. Overall a really good used car and one that is well worth the $4800 I paid for it.

Every car should be this good - 1995 Honda Civic
By benjoliversmom - April 10 - 2:00 amI wish more cars were made this way. Manual transmission and rack-and-pinion steering (NOT power steering) impart excellent road-feel and responsiveness. This drives like a sports car at a commuter- car price. Reliability is astoundingly good.

I love my honda civic, but - 2002 Honda Civic
By joanjean - April 9 - 10:00 amI love my honda civic, but Since I bought it new in 2002 i have haad a few problems with it. At my 15000 miles check they had to change the strut. At 29000 they had to put in a new altinator. My defogger does not work well and who knows what else will begin to happen after the warranty runs out in a few months I have 33000 miles on it so 3000 to go I hope it last nice car but not as well built as I thought

Love my car - 2004 Honda Civic
By xxgirlcali - April 9 - 10:00 amI love my car, its so reliable. I know now why there are tons of parents getting them for their kids. Its my first new car, so i pay my insurance, and gas, and its great. Even w/the gas prices going up, it doesnt faze me, my car is so good w/gas that i fuel up maybe once every two weeks or once a week when im really driving around. Ever since i got my Honda there are two words that i love to say w/my friends "Road Trip" and that means Las Vegas or where ever we want to go. By the way the trunk space is amazing you can fit 3 bodies in there!

Handling is questionable - 2004 Honda Civic
By Raygunshabadoo - April 9 - 10:00 amLove the car for what it is, but if youre coming from an older generation of Civic be warned that the high-speed (55mph+) cornering is poor and sometimes scary. Tires grip well, but the chassis lists unpredictably on the soft rubber bushings and new front suspension. Gone is the predictable understeer, replaced with body sway and feelings of impending doom.

OWNER 2002 - 2004 Honda Civic
By ROGER YOUNG - April 9 - 10:00 amMY MODEL IS A 2002: 1ST YR: COMPRESSOR A/C REPLACED. 2ND YR: FRONT STRUTS REPLACED ALONG WITH HEADLIGHT BULB. 1ST & 2ND YR: DOORS RE-ALIGNED AS A RUBBING SCRATCH SOUND IS STILL HEARD TODAY AS THEY COULD NOT LOCATE AND ELIMINATE. I WILL BUY A TOYOTA CORROLA THE NEXT TIME!

Civics are my Heroes - 2004 Honda Civic
By nirvanababy3 - April 9 - 10:00 amThis is the second Civic Ive owned and I dont think Ill ever own a different car. When it comes down to it, anything I ever need to take with me fits in it. Its so versatile I can use it for everything, easy off road trails, highway driving, or city driving.

fun car - 2003 Honda Civic
By ghst99 - April 9 - 10:00 amBought this car brand new but the previous model year. Its been a great car so far although the side panels seem to get dinged very easily when people parked next to you open their doors and hit the car. I was also rear-ended by a large F-250 on the highway going about 5-10 mph and the bumper held up better than I could have imagined.. I was expecting the worst but all I saw was two small dents in the back bumper.. no damage underneath.
