Model Overview:

Since its launch in 1973, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular compact cars sold in America. Its success can be attributed in large part to its consistently high level of quality inside and out and its long-standing reputation for reliability and low running costs. Impressive fuel economy and engaging performance have also played a role in making the Civic a top choice for many Americans.

The competition has largely caught up with Honda, though, and there are now many excellent small cars vying for your attention. Still, we continue to recommend the Civic due to its ergonomic interior layout, wide range of models and high resale value. For small-car shoppers in search of a solid used vehicle, the Honda Civic is certainly a smart choice, as its long production run and many variants make it easy to find what you want.

Inexpensive quality thats fun to drive. This car works, and its that simple. 62K, and still no oil leaks, sqeaks, rattles, knocking, or other annoying sounds you get from other economy cars with similar miles. Ive owned an 01 Accord, and my Civic is far more fun to drive. 5 speed is silk, and the engine is incredibly quiet and smooth through all of the gears. I feel lucky to own one. The only improvement could be better power windows. Mine are slow to rise, so I can see how others dislike them as well. I plan on keeping this car for a long while.

This car is great. All Hondas are excellent cars. This is my third one already. They keep getting better and better. Only suggestion would be to eventually go into V6 Market

  • Fun and great mpg - 2006 Honda Civic

I own a 2004 Prius and now own the 2006 civic hybrid. Great car and every bit as nice as the Prius. I currently have 1,800 on the vehicle and am averaging 51 mpg on mixed highway and city driving. I dont know how people can be getting way lower than that. I do not drive like a grandma, just sensibly. Dont expect to get 50 mpg driving 85 mph on the expressway or flooring it off the light. Great car, compares very well with the Prius. If you are seriously considering hybrids, this car is a good choice. I have two kids and we can all get in with no problem. You can definitely be a hybrid only family and take trips with no problem.

When I picked this car up it hadnt been treated very well, but after doing some minor maintenance such as brakes, hoses, belts and tune-up, it was wonderful! This car took me on many a road trip and was my daily driver on the pot-holed streets of New York City. It was nice and peppy with the 5- speed and handled great. City mileage could have been a little better for a 1.5L, but then again I drove it pretty hard. Highway mileage was great. I Bought the car with 130k and sold it with 155k to get something bigger. This car was infinitely better than the Saturn I had from the same year, which developed scores of problems at just 60k!

I have had this car for five years now and have just decided to sell it for a bigger vehicle. It has 178,000 miles and is still kickin. It has taken me to New England (850 miles) and back and many places in between. I would recommend these cars to anyone.

getting in and out of car can be little inconvenient. I felt the Pickup was ok not great. Drove it to Hoston Tx and back runs good, good mileage, For long trips be ready to fill often as the gas tank is only 10 gallon.
